I figured that it was a money thing, but I had no idea that it was that much and so dodgy. That's disgraceful!

    Default Tennis

Where did you get $100,000 from? He gets $10,000 if he doesn't play, $20k if he plays twice. Then he gets more for wins; $8,375 for each doubles win, and $9,850 for team wins, and more if they are in the finals.

    It is still ridiculous though.

Every player gets $100,000 appearance money which is on top of what you listed Andy.

Okay. They list appearance fees in their rules, but not that little bit. No wonder all these spuds are here.
The Greek number two that played yesterday had career prize money of $33k, and $14k last year. This tournament is a nice little boost then.

Ferrins would be in a better position to answer, but they don't make ends meet without support from somewhere else, such as their tennis federation.

Going Monday Night to see France and Serbia play, should be a good match up.

I'm eyeing off that one too, because Djokovic is the only one of the big four that I haven't seen, and it would be good to see him against Monfils.

They probably do want Matt Guyatt does at Brisbane Central. Coach, and charge $130 for an hour lesson. He’s booked out all day every day.

Chappy: Sponsors will often pay expenses if the player is a future prodigy, not for everyone though. When I was a part time tennis coach in Melbourne my boss had a tough time of it in the US (after graduating from college).

Anybody ranked outside the top 200 lives bare bones until they start placing (or winning) Challenger events.

What a clinic by Federer, best winning tennis for 3 sets I've seen since McEnroe beat Connors 6/1 6/1 6/2 in the Wimbledon 1984 final.

Ground pass gets you a seat(good luck with that) for tonights clash between Kyrios and Monfils. Would love to see that!

Kyrgios plays Simon, so not quite as entertaining. Bolt plays on the same court before him. When I was there a few years ago there was a 90min queue to get into that court.

The whole wildcard system is a rort. Money and rankings points that you wouldn't otherwise get, just because your country is the host of the tournament.

Only a rort if you’re not in on it!
