Another interesting match for Kyrgios, expected umpire abuse and no handshake, asks for a toilet break and takes two racquets with him and smashes them in the hall and returns without going to the loo, and to finish it off receives a 167k fine.

What would the expected penalty be in NRL or AFL for the spitting indiscretion, 12 months/2years to think about not being an embarrassment any more????

Radical idea for you , why don’t officials take a look at what he is complaining about . It will be the umpires that drive him out of the game either deliberately or by their ineptitude. Officials won’t do much because he has people talking tennis in the footy season.

Why on earth would the officials need to adjust their behaviour, when it's clearly this headcase's problem. If there was a systemic issue with the umpiring, wouldn't we see players loosing their minds and smashing their equipment routinely.

I'm glad you all found the match as entertaining as I did.

I watched the whole match. The umpire was definitely not starting the clock when he claimed that he was, which means he must have been intentionally trying to trigger Kyrgios. Disappointing behaviour from an official.

Nick's fines are all covered by his sponsors because of the exposure he gets.

Started with the headphone company covering his fines and giving him bonus $ for bad deeds that went to press.

    I believe you

And I reckon Nike would be in on it just like they did with Eric Cantona back in the day

He should be suspended, but will he be? He gets bums on seats.

He needs to be suspended for his own good, and that of tennis. If he gets away with this, how far will he take it some time later down the track? Officials need to be respected to a certain degree. Sure they are in the hot seat and sometimes exchanges can be quite entertaining but Kyrgios has surely crossed the line this time. He needs some time out to think.

Could get interesting with Serena and Sharapova on centre tonight. Has enough water passed under the bridge for this match to remain a civil encounter. One massive cat fight in the Wimbledon locker room a few years back when they were both ban.ing Grigor Dimtrov. Plenty of F and C words were exchanged and both lost early there.

Didn't it flare up a little bit recently with Sharapova's book coming out? Serena should make it 19 in a row without much problem.

A bit like Kournakova telling Hingis that no matter how many times you beat me or how many more titles you win. I will make more money, be more famous and more guys will want me.

Having said that Hingis was a homely little hottie.
