I would have thought one asterisk was enough, but four is over the top.

Craig O'Shannessy is a great analyst of the game. He has picked Fed in 4, although he has no doubts about Fed winning, due to the match up.

I’d like to think he will/can.
He’s stepped it up since losing Wimbledon to Fed
    Can’t see him winning though.

    Yes, Yes and Yes.

The towel thing drives me nuts. I had to laugh at the complaint about Kyrgios chewing on his towel being gross - isn't it bad enough that they throw them back to the ball kids with sweat all over them?

Would you rather watch them get the towel themselves? It is interesting to note that they seem to mostly towel their face. When I use a towel, it is for the hands; the things that actually hold the racquet.

I would rather they didn't get a towel at all between points. Go back to enormous Ivan Lendl sweat bands and terry toweling hats and it's problem solved without ball kids having to act like slaves.

Australian Tennis is going great when your No.2 player is a 30yo, ranked 80 in the world and better known for his doubles career.

Ebden hasn't had much of a doubles career as far as I know. Last year he improved the most in ranking position of anyone in the world, after finishing 2016 at 695. That's not a bad comeback from injury. He made an ATP final last year, and has plenty of years left in his career, if you consider the age of the guys ranked #1 and #2 at the moment.

Millman is in good form, Kokkinakis and DeMinaur show plenty of promise, and maybe even Santillan, but I haven't seen anything of him. We also have three women in the top 50 in the world. Australian Tennis seems okay to me.

Don't forget that "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" will turn Tomic's career around too.

So, did he throw the Aus open quals, or did he give it a red hot go, knowing that at some stage in the first round he'd lose interest, lose, and still be right to go into the jungle?

Why would he bother playing 3 rounds of qualifying and 3 sets in the third round?
