Are you sure she didn't front the media? There appears to be post match statements from her.

They are a different breed of cattle, Lawrence.

Steffi Graf was unable to do her post match Wimbledon final interview once. Having won in under an hour with the loss of a only a couple of games. She was balling her eyes out because of how crap she was and could not pull it together for the press.

It's seems kinda hald to feel sorry for Novak (easier to spell than his last name). Well, I don't really feel sorry for him at all, even though since Thursday it's seemed that the real stuff up has occurred over here, and as more info comes out it seems more like TA has made the major mistake regarding having had covid being acceptable as a reason to enter, and the feds maybe haven't been completely clear all the time, which isn't really unusual for them, or any govt, over the last couple of years. I mean, if the email to TA from the feds in Nov is genuine, it seems pretty clear cut that having had covid wasn't going to be accepted.
But, seeing the pics come out showing him at events, taking photos with fans etc, around and just after the date he supposedly received the positive result, and not wearing a mask, I kinda now think he's getting what he deserved! I mean, I've never really felt sorry for him in all this, but I didn't necessarily attribute the blame of all this to him. But now....... I mean, he's either tested positive and still gone out in public, attended events, etc with no consideration for anyone else at all. Or his positive result in Dec was faked to get him in here.

Yep I think you hit the nail on the head in your last sentence Goughy.
Arrogance at it's best, left it too late to apply for a medical exemption (which he wouldn't have got anyway) and then feigned Covid in a bid to get in under the ATAGI recommendation of having had Covid in last six months (again not accepted in Australia as a valid entry reason even though other countries have done so).
Tennis Australia appear to have also been complicit in telling players that this was a valid reason to get exemption.
Thousands of Aussies have had to miss out on seeing dying loved ones due to lockdowns so why should we make an exception for him.
    Send him home!!!!!

    You people are COVID obsessed.

Good move by Barty taking this week off, especially after playing the maximum number of matches in singles and doubles.

Why shouldn't we be? It's why I'm struggling to buy toilet paper again.
Reports this morning that there is a 30 page transcript of his discussions with immigration officials, and he apparently conducted himself politely and with decorum the whole time, unlike the officials......
Still, with pics appearing showing him attending events in the days after he was notified of his positive result, he either has no care for other people and children at all, or he had a falsified result to try and get him into Aus, which shouldn't have been enough anyway if it wasn't for TA and the govt f'ing it up, somehow.

And, of course, his father was holding a press conference and when he was asked about whether Novak was out in the public and with kids while positive, it was suddenly shut down!

Djokovic hasn't lost a match at the Open when being ranked number #1. It's good that he gets to play, but this one will be a bit more challenging for him.

Its a monumental clusterf**k. However, if he had been vaccinated, none of this would have happened.

    Anyway...

    1. If the policy Federal policy was no vaccination, no entry, then this should have been maintained and a visa denied until proof was provided. It should not have mattered what health advice TA, or the Vic Government had provided. Responsibility for borders sits at a federal level.
    2. The policy of 'if you have had it in the last 6 months, you are ok to come in, sort of', isnt really a policy. Its wishy washy maybe statements.
    3. Take the positive test on face value. That Novax was seen at charity events for days after his alleged positive puts some doubt on the veracity of the tests.
    4. The Serbian PM has taken this issue to heart - he has demanded a call with ScoMo to vent.

Who comes out of this looking good? Nobody really.

The world #1 tennis player has been locked up on dubious grounds.
Border Force looks like a Border Farce.
Scomos tough man statements look like Comical Ali.

And the country has now suffered significant reputational damage.

I bet no F1 drivers or team members come here without vaccination....

Hope the crowd boos Djokovic at every opportunity. That might almost make tennis worth watching.

My fix is not to buy a Kia, or anything else advertised during the AO.

Since I won't be watching the telecast, I'll boycott whatever is advertised on any Channel 9 channel over the next month.
