2010 WA Matchplay, nominations closed, respect.
Ok gents, with the final all set for Sunday, we can look toward 2010 now.
2009 was a shambles to start with, but we got there in the end.
Can we get some interest for the 2010 season?
Scratchings will be much harsher this year. Cut off dates will be set in concrete. Lets do this the right way.
Cut off date for nominations: done. Draw: done
New thread here.
OK, I'll start.
1. Adlo, tipped for 2010 glory.
2. Old man HMOI, man of many words.
3. Rowdy Roddy TourFat
4. Mega-ShoeHo-Watty, the revolving WITB-man.
5. Cwazy Canuck, the 2009 WA OzGolf dominator.
6. Yossarian, no chance when his real handicap catches up with him.
7. iTree 3.0, new and improved for 2010, will be updated with ability actually close out a match with less than a triple bogey.
8. Zuesgolfer, now permitted to join, has legitimate ownership of "the straightest driver ever"
9. SeldomEagles, brown cardigan wearing closet ho.
10. Pieface, Bobby Locke was called "old muffin face" you know.
11. Uncle Kumquat Nuts, or is it Lowball-Nuts?
12. The Nuffinator, has super human talking abilities.
13. Veefore, trying desperately to increase the numbers from Hartfield, even though they still have no chance.
14. TopDog, it is all about quality, not quantity.
15. Bruce Dickinson, hoping redeem the shame that came with his scratching in 2009.

Agree with adlo and MW...has to be knockout.
Good idea though Yoss, and if it weren't for time constraints and scheduling I reckon it would be great. You could choke over the full 36 or 54 holes instead of doing the quick strangle thing !!! A slow, painful death...
However, maybe the Final can be over 36 holes...
...2 separate rounds (with the 2nd round being part of an organised OzGolf Day - such as we had yesterday!)

I go along with Bergsey, Adlo and ID - if games are spread out throughout the year and also if the first match is after 3rd January, I should be fine to play. I figure being a private member, who tries to play away every 2-3 weeks with the Hartfield reciprocal rights, its another excuse to get the odd games in at KB, Bunbury or Binningup, etc.
So this is another great opportunity to get good use out of your club membership whilst still playing the odd game on other courses - which is good for your game. Also I enjoy the relaxed company of the ozgolfers, as in private club events, members can sometimes take things a bit seriously and build up too much tension and stuff. Additionally - what a great opportunity to prepare some of us for club pennants this year?

Agreed with most.....more time needed for 1st round matches and the whole thing would be better spread over more of the year....
And the draw!!!!! Yikes ........And don't get too excited PF, I've had my good round for the next few months.....you could face the cwazy Canadian from Canadia.
You'll beat him as long as you do the complete opposite of what Yoss did yesterday!

OK, MegaWatty, slot the Nuffinator in to play Zues.
I will PM you, we need the draw done properly and then I can start the "official" thread.

Ok. I'll go and fire up the 'puter.
Was Bruce keen? He seemed upset that a draw was released. More tan happy to start drawing of the byes for the semi finalists. If we get 16, then fantastic.

Bruce will not play, he was just stirring the pot. He is lucky to play once a fortnight at the moment with how busy he is.
He got scratched in 09 for the same reason.
I think we are maxed out at 12.

Unlike Mt Lawley and my old club Cabramatta, Hartfield has about 5 teams - quite increadible. They have Div 1, Div 4, 5, 6 and 7 for metro pennants. This year I played #1 in Division 5 playing off 7. I was on the reserves list for Division 4, but most of those guys were playing of 3-6 hcps.

That will be a good match, and a tough one for me - especially given the way Zeusgolfer's nailing that new driver of his yesterday. Nuffie's gonna need to be in yesterday's form to have a chance but it will be a great challenge for us both. Cant wait!

Out of curiosity, how many of us do play pennants?
I don't play summer pennants because of the two person thing unless I am going to team up with someone I know. I only play Winter pennants.

Fully agree...thats why I also play winter pennants only. Also I find scoring easier in the summer and tougher in the winter, hence a good reason to play pennants during the challenging weather conditions of July/August.
