WA 2009 Matchplay Final, Mt Lawley, 13/12, Can the Canuck make it a clean sweep?
OK,
While I am disappointed I am not in the final, I am breathing a sigh of relief that we finally got to the point of having a final by the end of the year.
2009 has been a big year for WA OzGolfers.
The inaugural Sandgroper Champs
The inaugural WA Matchplay
Having more than 3 WA OzGolfers posting on the forums
And who can forget the countless threadjacks (apart from 3OD who ignored them all)
So the final event for the year is here and attendance has been locked in!
Johnny Canuck (4) vs Yossarian (22)
17 shots. Can the cwazy canadian somehow muster enough internet money? Will Yossarian buckle under pressure and collapse like an Aldila DVS noodle?
The Canuck is trying to make it a clean sweep of all the "WA Majors".
Mt Lawley GC, Sunday December 13, 2009.
What a great course to play this thing. I am in like Flynn to watch this and "score".
My book would be running:
JC $1.80
Yoss $2.20
JC is a fierce competitor who seemingly can will the ball to do what he wants. Yoss is a high handicapper capable of golf much better (and much worse) than his handicap. Which Yoss will we see Sunday?
Let the sledging begin!!

Yeah they have been for weeks but Mt Lawley will be running 2 feet quicker at least.

This is based on TourFits information, but even though he talks a heap, he is normally pretty right.

I'd say 9-10 the past few Saturdays. They seem to pick up a bit of speed as the days gets warmer.

So Yoss shot 38. Minus his 11 handicap, that's 27.
I would only have to shoot 7 under over 9 to tie. Too easy.

He will not tear Mt Lawley up like that. Much more challenging green side areas and it is a new track for him. If he can shoot around 90, he will take the crown.

You need to be a touch more motivated than that to win, sonny.

I suggest Freo Public...that'll get you up to speed on the greens!! Maybe do some self damage with a low punch from the trees, bang a couple of ho's on Fri/Sat night, switch to Nike...oh wait!!

I agree, just hazarding a guess as to the speed.
Wembley greens (while full of pitch marks) roll at a good speed.
Played Bunbury last Thursday. Too fast!!

There is no such thing, just be thankful that you don't have to putt on slow lumpy greens.

BD, I know mate. Just frustrating how many golfers do not repair. But I am sure it pisses you off more than me. Old #16 is ridiculously bad. Back right and back left pin positions need to be used more often. My 2 cents.
Zac, hard and firm greens rolling at 12+ are damn hard. I'd take pure greens rolling at 10 any day.

Agreed, and that's with us giving away pitch mark repairers for the past couple of weeks.
Will look at the 16th, the 3rd Quarry at Joondy would be one of the worst going around

I think that with the handicap Yoss has and his current form he will be unbeatable.
