Well played Andy. AP played very well. He was 20 points after the F9 and was 3 up after 10. He lapsed concentration a little and let me off the hook. I won the next 3 to square it up. AP won 14 Lucky won 15. Big hole was 16, AP's last shot he had for the day. He made a nice chip and one putt whilst I two putted, but he won the hole and we squared the last 2.
Best 12 marker I have played against

Thanks peeps and thanks for the great match, Lucky.

No time for detail at the moment, so I'll really be testing my memory by the time Monday night or Tuesday comes around.

A summary is that after my first ten holes, you could call me a burglar as I was beating Lucky off the stick and was 3 up. His only hole win was a birdie. But Lucky is very solid (as you would expect), and I eventually had to come down, and he picked up the next 3 holes to bring it back to all square. I won the next with birdie, Lucky the next with par, then I won the 16th with a good up and down to go 1up with 2 shots left and no shots to spare.

We both had bogeys on the nightmare par 3 17th, so it was looking like a chance of a playoff with one to play.
    The 18th deserves more detail.
Both down the middle on 18 with a mid to low iron approach to a back pin that requires a water crossing. Lucky goes first and puts it in the drink by choosing the wrong club. Knowing that I can now play it safe and a bogey will be enough, I aim away from the water, and push it way right and into the drink with Lucky. After the drops we both pitch onto the green in similar spot with downhill putts of four or five metres in length. Lucky's just misses, but leaves a safe tapin. My putt misses on the low side and keeps rolling away, leaving myself a knee knocking putt back. I take lots of practice swings and eventually step over it and knock it into the back of the cup for a square and an overall win.

Yep very solid for a 12 marker. I had 34 points, so to play 6 over and get beaten shows how well AP played.
Funny last hole - why I took an 8 iron I hit 135m when I was 145 to the pin I will never know

I thought that the final being played as a group at Pac Harbour was special. Being able to heckle them from adjacent fairways was classic, as was the hooting and hollering heard over the closing holes. But more so the group finish on the 18th was just one of those special moments I reckon. Hope it felt that way for Lucky, and especially Andy.
