Default How Will You Play The 10th Hole At Pelican Waters?

I thought I would get this going considering the Champs are so close.
We are off the 10th, which is a 465m par 5 (from the blues) and it looks like a fairly straightforward opening hole. No big clumps a bloody bamboo to worry about this year There looks to be some short, but very tricky holes so I can see the hybrids getting a good workout.
The back nine looks a lot tighter than the front so if your long game is off it could be a long weekend
Feel free to add more holes and give your thoughts and tactics.

Carry the bunkers on the left and then land a 3 wood on the green sinking the putt for eagle?

    gday all
have played this hole plenty of times ( as old man backs onto 10 fway),def driver off tee as most will be able to drive past bunkers,3 wood or hybrid for 2nd shot for position and easy wedge on , most should par it or even birdie for longer hitters, only trouble is if you miss fway to right off tees, last 3 holes toughest on course, love this course as have played it 15 times

Where did all those houses come from? There was nothing there when I last played the course. Now when was that?

I find this to be the hardest hole on the course for me, I always try to get there in 2 and end up dead down to the left short of the greenside pot - which is 100% dead.

Whatever you do, leave your second out to the right, lay up short and leave yourself 100 in if you have to - much better than being 20 out on the left.

That hole has eagle written all over it for a flusher like you.
But if you fail to beat my gross score on that hole, well, that's gayer than iron covers.

Shall we have a bet? Winner gets to be "Daddy" back at the room?

Driver, 21* hybrid or 4-wood, 50* wedge and putt/putt. If the wind is blowing from the north the third shot will be a knockdown 9-iron if 1 & 2 goes to plan.

No need. If you can't beat me off the stick, you automatically become my bitch forever more.

I'll be going the driver/hybrid/short iron route also.

No need for heroics on the opening hole (especially with the peanut gallery we'll have assembled there)

Driver, 3 wood to pin high RHS in the rough. Pretty dead down the bottom there as well as it's all downhill all the way to the front pin.

Skull my drive - left to just short of the first set of trees - think (wrongly) I know what I am doing and try to hook my three wood (which I always slice or cold top) around said trees into a playable approach position, hit the 3w pure and as straight as the nullarbor highway, clipping aforementioned trees ending up in fairway pot (the 1st one). Smash my 3hy as hard as I can, managing to splash the ball out of the bunker back onto the fairway (or possibly into the next bunker but for arguments sake lets say I have some luck). Get my 3w out again and aim at the road way on the left, manage to get some good contact and watch a beautiful banana slice roll the ball up past the last two bunkers on the right. Blade my chip just off the back of the green. Roll my put 5 foot short of the hole but then drain the last (I seem to be OK at those sometimes) for a neat 7 a 2, as long as the index is right and it damn well should be changed if it isn't.

I won't be there so you will just have to believe me

smash driver, but pull it and end up on old mate's tennis court near the roundabout. reload. hit a nice draw that clears the traps. lipout a 5 wood from 200. kick in par.

Ok, it's roughly 210m to clear the last trap on the left (if you intend to take that line) so a decent tee shot will be needed. For me a nice raking draw down the right side, bunt my hybrid and flick a lobby to 10 feet, 2 putt par

generally plays into a prevailing win Eagsy, it's a big hit to get over those traps
