Default How Will You Play The 10th Hole At Pelican Waters?

I thought I would get this going considering the Champs are so close.
We are off the 10th, which is a 465m par 5 (from the blues) and it looks like a fairly straightforward opening hole. No big clumps a bloody bamboo to worry about this year There looks to be some short, but very tricky holes so I can see the hybrids getting a good workout.
The back nine looks a lot tighter than the front so if your long game is off it could be a long weekend
Feel free to add more holes and give your thoughts and tactics.

Henno - you are way too gay to be sharing a room with me. I could score a supergoal two years in a row.

Have you made a single comment regarding the champs that does not involve you buggering Henno afterwards ???

Probably not. He's on a promise.

It's a whole new world on the other side (so I hear).

I hit 4 iron off the tee on the 5th usually, as I hate appraocing that green with anything less than a 9 iron

The next hole is the 3rd a 465m Par 5, it looks like a cracker of a hole with danger all down the right side. There seems to be a bail out area down the left that I think will be popular

I predict a wet landing on at least one of my three shots. Hybrid off the tee might be the go.

For me a nice big fade starting at that clump of trees, maybe have a crack if I am within range, but probably end up punching something down there to 100m or so and wedge in.
Who am I kidding, I can't hit a fade to save my life

wouldnt you be better off taking your drop another 30m further down?

now there is a point, if you hit into the water do you drop in the bunker, or is the bunker considered part of the water hazard

I'll try to draw one over the end of the bunker (220-230m carry) and double-cross myself resulting in a massive block out into the middle of the lake. Take a drop from not far in front of the tee, then cold-top my way to the green. Chip on for 6 then bury a 20ft snake for an easy double.

    Day 1 (blue tees):
    Henno - birdie

    Day 2 (black tees):
    Henno - birdie
    SMS - par

    Pretty convincing I think.

Nice work henno, good effort to go -2 on that hole for the two days.

Myself, i went birdie/bogey... but was happy to get up and down for the bogey after being long and right of the green for my fourth.

    Day 1 - +1 (lost ball)
    Day 2 - E

Crap drives both days but managed to salvage with good approach shots. Green was a bit bumpy for those on the front edge and 30 metres away. Thankfully these were not indiactive of the other 17.

    Day 1, wipe
    Day 2, +2

Made the mistake of missing over the back on Saturday then flew one back over the green into the bunker of doom! Pulled the 2nd shot on Sunday into the trees for a lost ball. Then ended up over the back again!. Used my putter this time and managed to scramble a point!

Wipe after going left, which is where I told everyone not to go.

1 point, after doing it again but scrambling to the front edge and 3 jabbing

Day 1 - Block one into the hazard right, punch out, rescue just short, pitch on, 2 putt bogey.
Day 2 - Weak cut short of the right bunker, top 3 wood just past Jono's LD marker, slot 3 wood onto green and 2 putt for regulation par.

    Driver, Hybrid, pitch
    Driver, 5 wood, longer pitch
both pitch shots well short of the hole, i found it really hard to convince myself to get it up that hill and into the wind, even the 2nd time around

like most holes there, plenty of danger to catch you up if not carefull.
