I like my 4" one but I got a 5" one yesterday and whipped it out today.
Having that extra inch is so much better for cutting cladding sheets with thin cutting discs.
Bosch 5" grinder for $65, I like it heaps.

Bugger, could have saved a few more bucks.
I might need more yet. Not sure what I'm doing for the top of the aviary yet, box frame or just rivit the cladding on.

    Tier 2 would be:
    Flagstaff Hill
    Vines
    TT Gully
    Blackwood
    Mt Osmond
    West Lakes (Riverside)
+ Any I have left out!

I would consider Gawler Tier 3 - most of it comes down to cost of subs

cost for subs at TTG isn't cheap at all though is it? I thought it was almost more than gawler

Vines, Blackwood, West Lakes etc.. I don't think have a joining fee. If TTG are asking for $1800 I would join a Tier 1 course instead.

ok so just checked their website an current 7 day membership is $1892. Entrance fee is now $550 payable over three years.

About 2 o 3 years ago that entrance fee was $1800 payable over three years!! either way its not cheap but we aren't exactly spoilt for choice in the north and north eastern suburbs.

Why would you rate Gawler tier 3? I would consider it comparable with TTG, Blackwood and Flaggy

Conditioning has dropped off over the last few years.
Kikuyu fairways can be fairly ratty in a lot of spots.
Better than some I'd rate tier 3 but not up to tier 2 standard.

Based on its financial subs and position within the market. Course rating and its overall GCA I don't think comes into play much as it more to do with other factors. Golf S.A can provide more information on the matter should you wish to dig deeper. The tier system acts as a guide for patrons wishing to join a club based on their budget.

In terms of Gawler's GCA yes it is comparable with the likes of TTG but the club does not share the same financial position so it is limited in its ability to improve its layout. Gawler has magnificent land and with some investment could become a very good course, replacing the kikuyu would be the first step I would take plus moving some tee blocks to better utilize and emphasise excellent but sadly unused/un-utilized golfing land.
