People who think it's an awesome idea to put a huge group of social players in front of the Foursomes Championships field.

VW engines. The timing chain just failed on my GTI and led to a piston pretty well self destructing and taking out one of the cylinders. I loved that car. Had it since new and in the 7 years and 120k km it had been pretty bulletproof. Now I have a choice of spending $7-8k putting in a 2nd hand engine on a car only worth $15-18k or pretty much writing it off.

I expected this kind of shit to happen to my old Alfa, not a relatively new VW. Wankers.

Was it replaced at 100k Ron. Pretty sure timing chains are an item picked up in a normal service schedule. If it was recently replaced, u may have a way to get vw to assist in the repair.

Servicing was all done per the book. I don't have the manual here with me as it's still in the car at my mechanics but from memory the mk v models needed it replaced at 105k but the mk vi don't. Ironically I already had it booked in for the routine annual service yesterday but it didn't quite make it. Google tells me it's a known fault on the '09-12 models. Not known to me until this week though...

LUKE DARCY! Was an also-ran footballer and has been a less than ordinary commentator. Talk talk talk but nothing that comes out of his massive gob actually makes sense. Paired with Basil Zemplas they are like a pair of retarded seals captured in a box with a strobe light. I feel bad for the intelligent people that have to work with them.

    Great timing on this.

About a half hour ago I was wondering how he keeps his gig when everyone things he's a flog that tries too hard to sound intelligent.

Well....Wtf can I say. Give me Brian Taylor through gritted teeth any day over Darcy anytime. How the hell he has tv and radio gigs is beyond me. Surprised he's not downstairs with Jack Vineys slong in his massive gob.

Say what you like about his commentary (I really don't find it that offensive compared to 9/10ths of them), but an "also-ran footballer"? C'mon mate, was a damn good ruck / forward who damn near could've won a Brownlow, and had a career cut short by injury.

    Cancer.
I arrived on the sunny coast yesterday to what was meant to be a joyous time for our family in the lead up to my sisters wedding next weekend. Instead was greeted with the news my only sister has just been diagnosed with stage 3 potentially stage 4 breast cancer.
As her big brother whenever there was a problem when we were growing up I would be the one to give her a hug and tell her everything would be alright but last night when I gave her a hug I couldn't tell her that because I wasn't sure if everything would be. All I could do was tell her she wasn't to give up because we weren't giving up on her.
In the last 24 hours I have gone through many emotions but right I'm pissed off that the big c has came to visit someone I dearly love at such as young age.

Sorry to hear that SH. I hope the treatment is successful.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

That's sh*t mate. All the best for your sister, yourself, and your family.

Sounds like she's got all the support she needs, I hope the treatment does it's job.
