Still ***ing stuck at Cairns airport.
Why can't a plane worth tens of millions of $$ land in cloudy weather??

And the mayor announced from Thursday on should not be shat into the creek anymore, because on Saturday beer is brewed.
So. What are you doing at Kennedy Bay?
Visiting zrw.

Work visit.
Everyone here in the Q Club is hammering the bar. Qantas will want to get their planes on the ground and passengers out of here as the stocks are taking a pounding!!

Gardening. I hate every minute of enforced maintenance. I hate all maintenance. It's boring. Entropy is the bane of my existence.
Bruce having the same size waist as me.
Still in the Q Club in Cairns. Dozens of flights diverted or cancelled due to weather.
Q Club staff concerned about running out of food. Beer supply looks shaky.
Also have Peter Cosgrove, Sam Kekovich and Bob Katter in here. Anything to pass onto Bob?

Tell Bob that if he supports Labor you will give his phone number to Mike.
Go up and introduce yourself, start a conversation and see how long it takes him to remember your name.
I met him up north not long ago, was having a beer with 2 mates. We all introduced ourselves, and I even had my name on my shirt. Couldn't get any of our names right, not even close!!!
Some wanker nicking the over size d shackle on the safety chain off the buggy trailer!
Not guilty.
This disappoints me more than it pisses me off - the apparent demise of the thankyou wave in Sydney traffic.
Truckies and tradies are still good for a wave. The rest of the clowns in this place are hopeless.

Melbourne going down to North, when if they had kicked straight they should have lead by 3 goals at 3/4 time and with all the momentum...
Missing that tip is going to cost me first in one comp, second in another, and about $400.

In Perth now a day late.
Was just amazing yesterday, our flight got out 9 hours late with the understanding that we will stopover in Uluru for the night. All good, until we get to Uluru last night and find that our bags were offloaded in Cairns as we weren't heading through to Perth as expected.....
People were getting excited last night after seeing a couple of 767's land (Brisbane and Sydney destinations). But after 30 minutes or so, everyone was informed that as the staff had worked their allocated hours, the couldn't fly out so those passengers were also put up with the Melbourne Qantas passengers plus all the Virgin passengers.
Safety does come first though I guess.

You've probably heard this by now, but I found out what the problem was last night from a friend in the industry. The ground-based landing radar is getting upgraded (they picked August because the weather is always good ). With the cloud being so low, the pilots couldn't land visually and with no radar couldn't be guided in by the automated systems.
See post #3882.
