Maybe he offered the position without approval from the comittee/management?

Did he actually tell you you had the job yesterday?Or that you had teh job if approved? There is a big difference. He may not have justifyed the position enough for them to take on an apprentice.

Sometimes bosses (or supervisors in this case) think they are far more important than what they are. He obviously doesn't have the authority to hire someone.

Bad luck, hope it get's sorted out though.

No not **** them, that is what working life is about. It doesn't have to make sense or be fair it just is. Which is why if you are smart you give yourself the best chance of getting any job. And you know how you do that?

Pup, did you receive an offer letter with the stuff you've mentioned above, or was it just word of mouth from the super? If you'd received an offer letter and signed it, then you might have some sort of claim that you've entered a contract, but otherwise I'm not sure what else you could do...

Maybe they didn't want someone that could only cut fairways 200m, straight as a gun barrel.

Kristian, he said to me yesterday that I had the job if I wanted it. And that I would recieve a letter in the next day/2 days to sign with all the information.

And yes Yoss, **** them. I've been ****ed around by the management of the club before, and even this time they've tampered with my application. Now I get the job, and then the management again refuses for me to start work, even though the super wants me.

What has happened in the past that would lead to you being blacklisted by management? Surely there is some sort of back story here that you are not telling us.

Pup, what happened before at that Club to warrant this sort of outburst? Is it one of the placed that reprimanded you for poor behaviour/manners etc? Or maybe they just don't want someone who has such a high golf internet profile ie GCA?

Q1. Could a Muirfield board member browse the posts made on a public forum ?

Q2. Could another club's committee (looking for prosepective employee) browse the posts made on a public forum ?
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.

I would guess that potential employers could go to any length that they needed to...

Pup, those are reasonably serious accusations, especially about Muirfield tampering with your application. Seems way too complex a situation to blur it further with emotion driven vitriol - you'd be best seeking some good advice from someone you know personally.

Yoss, I thought that employment contracts were enforceable for minors...then again, I'm thinking back to a semester of business law that I did back in 2005, so it could have changed between then and now. Either way, would seem that this aspect's now irrelevant.

One particular member of the club has some beef with me, but I do not know why. As far as I am aware, I haven't done anything to warrant this treatment.

I'm not sure Jack. Not sure about the behaviour bit, but I haven't had anybody talk to me about it at the club.

Pup, piece of advice I saw delivered to a kid (about 7- at NSW animal welfare league when we bought our puppy 10 years ago. he was going on like a good sort about how we bought his dog and throwing a real good tantrum.
    The little old lady volunteer (probably about 70) pulled him aside and said this;

"Listen to me, this is not the last time in life you won't get what you want, so deal with it!"

Rachelle and I were gob-smacked but I will never forget that piece of advice.

    take that advice pup

Do you mind if I ask what your folks think about this? And if you are asking them for advice?
