Now, Pissed off. The arsehat who snapped my wiper off when the wife parked the car legally in a quiet suburban backstreet.

Bouquet to the awesome bloke at the dealership who gave me trade price for the replacement - half of what I thought I would have to pay.

Final inspection to check exact vent positions and size was written on the Quote Sheet as 2/12 10am.
I got a phone call that I missed by 10min that went to msg bank from Aircon place on Thursday 28/11 saying I needed to contact them to schedule a final inspection date and and time.
I called back as soon as I received the msg and got the persons msg bank so left a msg saying I had the final inspection listed on the Quote Sheet as Monday 2/12 at 10am and to call me back if that needed to change.
Received no call back so assumed all was good for the Monday.
Come Monday no one arrives so I call up 3 times (first 2 times I get automated mail box full response so cant leave a msg) to ask where are they. When I finally get through they try to tell me I never got back to them to which I had to point out I left a msg, then got a raft of excuses.
I hope the install goes much better than this interaction although with a 37 degree day likely Monday that might get cancelled.
Install date was today and I’m really p!$$ off as job is not finished and a new booking is required to finish what should have been completed today.
Let’s go through the sequence of events from the start of day.
    1. Get told installers start 8:30 - 9:00 but don’t be surprised if they get there early around 8:00am
2: 9am and no one had shown up. Get a phone call at 9:15 from installer saying he’s running an hour late.
    3. He finally arrives at 10:30am, most apologetic and says he’s on his own as they’ve had 7 call in sick.
    4. First question he asks is if I’d like the vents positioned near doorways as that’s normal. I inform him they go where the existing ones are.
    5. It becomes clear he had no idea that the job was total removal of old system and instal of new system.
    6. At just after 5pm I get a call from Air Con mob to ask how the job went and if I was happy with it?
    7. I inform the girl on the end that the job is far from finished and the guy is still here. I get the I’ll find out what’s going on and get back to you. No one calls back.
    8. Now I find out from installer another day/time needs to be booked to finish the job and that it’s not as simple as he comes back tomorrow to finish it off.

I’ve had to take a days leave for today and now I’m going to need another but at this stage don’t know what day. Needless to say I’m massively unimpressed.
How much should I be asking get deducted from the already agreed price (only deposit paid so far) for the massive jerk aroud?

Keep pushing and they will keep reducing.
Similar sort of thing happened to me with a kitchen.
Installer turned up on the day he was supposed to. Great guy and just a contractor that gets paid a small amount per cupboard. Ripped out my entire kitchen.
After he finished, he rang the kitchen people to ask the delivery time for my new cupboards the next day only to be told they haven't even built yet.
Somehow they turned it around in 4 days and the poor contractor had to install on the Saturday and Sunday.
Next were the contractor electricians, plumbers and tilers all trying to delay because apparently it was my fault it got stalled.
After lots of arguing they reduced by a further $500 plus a few incidentals of having to buy takeaway for the extra few days.

For what its worth, do not ever use Wallspan.

    Aircon stuff around part 3
    1. Expecting phone call first thing this morning to work out finish of job.
    2. Nothing from them so phone show room where I signed forms.
    3. 5 calls from 10:30am to 2:30pm after being repeatedly being told someone would call back to finally get an answer.

Must be a head office thing. Grand Junction Road I'm guessing?
Bought ducted heating through them in winter. Not a problem.

Pity my son doesn't do swampy. He is an apprentice sparkamatrician for Reliable Air.

Maybe I should have started a stand alone thread in this as it gives almost as much as our QLD holiday.
Was told installer(s) would be here 12 noon and it would all be done by 4pm as that was made clear it was a dead line as we had our daughter graduation tonight.

I called at 12:17 saying no one was here. Got a call back at 12:37 telling me they were on their way and extras would be joining them and it would all be finished 4pm easily.
Origonal installer arrived at 1:30pm and another crew arrived just after 2pm.
The original installer left at 15:15 saying he had to get to another job leaving 2 others behind to finish.

At 4pm I had to go up on roof and tell them they need to stop and go as that was an absolute dead line that their company was well aware of.
They claimed the other installer had not let them know that.

I think I will name the Swampy Gilligan as an assured 1 day job has now been 3 days and destination has not been reached.

I think I’ll be saying so long to HBF.

Had another vehicle hit and run me.

Provided rego, photos of the vehicle as I was able to chase them down, it was a very busy freeway and we weren’t moving fast. Provided a police report.

HBF “tried” contacting the company to make the driver pay, but told me after quite a few months and follow up calls that they never got a response so they wouldn’t pay my excess back to me.

I’ll be taking my health, car, and house insurances elsewhere.

NRMA looked after me when my car got hit while parked. Even though the guy left his details, the company he worked for wouldn't respond, but I still didn't have to pay the excess.

I'm with Budget Direct now, because it is cheap, but I'm a little worried about what may happen if I make a claim. I heard bad reports many years ago, but I think their reputation has improved.

I just had a parked car hit but luckily the guy left a note. We only had to provide the name and address of the at fault party to NRMA and excess was waived and we got a free hire car.

thats really slack of them, insurance companies are supposed to chase people, and if they dont respond they just serve demands and take them to court.

Thats what happened to me when my insurer wouldnt pay all of the other parties claim on me.

Good to hear you're okay and it was amicable. Sounds like you have more room for golf gear now.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
