Had to go to the Royal Brisbane Hospital today - decided to park in the Hospital back streets after checking the Brisbane City Council website which advised that parking restrictions were 2 hours only - on Mon to Fri...No other info about restrictions etc on weekends - all good I thought, until I got to my car late this arvo and found a $100 ticket for parking for more than two hours without a resident permit!!!

F'n car parks! My daughter's car got hit a few weeks ago when it was parked at a shopping centre. By the getaway car for a shoplifter. The staff chasing him got the make, model and rego of the car; we filed the police report but unless they can identify the driver we're stuck with the excess. Then my wife got hit today. She was backed out and about to move forward when a car behind her backed out without looking and hit her. Exchanged details, grabbed witness details who said the other driver was clearly at fault, the other driver admitted it was his fault and that he didn't look. Too bad, have to pay our excess as well! I did tell her that that would be the case, but it's still friggin annoying to be out this money when someone was at fault. As my wife said, looks like she's not getting that crown this year!

That is why we have Dashcams in our cars.

I don't understand why the 2nd one isn't being treated as no fault?

I don't understand it either, though I fully expected it! Witness, and other party admitted their fault. He even said he looked over his right shoulder but not his left, which is where Rob was. Dash cams would have done nothing to help her, they would have been facing the wrong way. We have to ring the cops again to find out if they've identified the driver of the shoplifters, but our insurance company said they've had no update so far.

I have Dashcams facing both front and back in our cars.

Sounds like you need another Insurance Company to me. Most just require you to identify the other Driver.

Had one about a year ago.
Some woman pulling into a carpark at Bunnings hit my back quater panel.
Trolley collecters witnessed it and notified me when I came out. Waited 10 minutes for her to come out
She denied it but when showed all the silver paint on her car she quickly backed out. Also the staff came over and said they saw it.
By the look of her car she drove by feel.
Anyway, never had to pay a cent.

Should posted this yesterday but too tired too.
We are getting the ducted Swampy Aircon for the house replaced in 2 weeks time.
Final inspection to check exact vent positions and size was written on the Quote Sheet as 2/12 10am.
I got a phone call that I missed by 10min that went to msg bank from Aircon place on Thursday 28/11 saying I needed to contact them to schedule a final inspection date and and time.
I called back as soon as I received the msg and got the persons msg bank so left a msg saying I had the final inspection listed on the Quote Sheet as Monday 2/12 at 10am and to call me back if that needed to change.
Received no call back so assumed all was good for the Monday.
Come Monday no one arrives so I call up 3 times (first 2 times I get automated mail box full response so cant leave a msg) to ask where are they. When I finally get through they try to tell me I never got back to them to which I had to point out I left a msg, then got a raft of excuses.
I hope the install goes much better than this interaction although with a 37 degree day likely Monday that might get cancelled.

Not pissed off, but saddened by the loss of environment.

The beautiful NSW south coast burning from Batemans Bay to Burrill Lake, and little hope nor chance of stopping it without major wind changes sending the fires to the Pacific or back onto itself. Its not going to rain for a week at least, and its too big a fire to put out with manpower alone.

After half the expected rainfall for 2 consecutive years and the exceptional heat and wind, the semi rainforest is tinder dry, and now gone.

There have been fires in the past, but nothing on this scale - and sadly this has been replicated for thousands of kilometres from Newcastle to Queensland.
