For cricket season last year, we were told to check fixtures on the Thursday night each week, as they were subject to change each week. They never did change, which would make people complacent about checking..

Yep, netball the same here. 12:15 every week and always at the same venue.

Doesn't matter anyway, all junior and senior games cancelled for tomorrow in the end.

Why are the games being cancelled?

    Good enough reason for me.

The pair that got in front of us on the back nine yesterday were slow and it was frustrating. What pissed me off was that I wasn't paying enough attention until towards the end when I realised they were playing a couple of balls each.

Auto Correct Apps! I just un-installed Swiftkey. No point having it if I have to confirm just about every word I type, to stop it changing it to something else! It would be OK if it actually learnt and retained words I confirm, but it doesn't seem too!??

I don't think that helps. I stuck it out with swiftkey for like a year or so, but in the end it was really just a pain. It wasn't bad at predicting my next word though.
I've gone back to Swype. While swyping I don't get the next word prediction, but it immediately pops up other word options so I think it's better for when the prediction gets it wrong. I also think it's prediction is a little better. I correct less words, but when I do I find it easier and faster to do.

Since when has 'toasted sandwich' become 'toastie' ? - sounds stupid - is it an advertising thing?

Might be a QLD thing, has been a toastie in NSW for a fair amount of time, mid 90's. That is a Toastie is one made in a grill or press eg, Ham & Cheese Toastie. A toasted sandwich is one where it is just a sandwich made with toasted bread, Eg Bacon & Egg Toasted Sandwich

I'm assuming one is bread that is toasted, and then the sandwich i put together. The other is put together, and then toasted in the sandwich press.

    Partly TV's (Jamie Oliver) influence.

Partly to dissociate it from the daggy 1970's Breville Toasted Sandwich makers, because the punters would realise that they could get it out from the back of the kitchen cupboard and make them at home for a tenth of the price.

Got up to watch Day hopefully win the Bridgestone. Foxtel and Telstra Internet are out (same cable). And their diagnostic tool is "Down for maintenance"!
