Discovering that my first comp round back playing golf adopted my old handicap from 2011 (which I knew) but anchored it after that very first round despite me shooting 10 strokes over it.
The best I have managed in the 10 rounds since is 8 shots over that H/C, and the worst is 18 shots over that H/C... and my average is 11 shots over that H/C. Yes, eleven.
So I am effectively 'anchored' to a 2011 score for a year... or until I remember how to play this fkn game.
Had a lesson with the club pro in a effort to make my driving a bit more consistent. Played 9 holes next day to try changes, went awry for eight drives, in frustration I grasped the driver with a base ball grip and made the green in regulation, go figure. I played another game the next day using the base ball grip, made every fairway straighter and longer, the lesson did not do any good, but change of grip made a huge difference.

haha... I know that feeling...
Yes at 76 years old the body does not move as easy as a younger person. I think he wanted to change my swing to a Adam Scott style, I can't move as stylish as that.
Worked for Moe Norman.
Basically the same thing that happened to me when I restarted, cept my hc was from 2008. I think I played to it once, but most games were 10+ over it. Luckily I was happy just to actually be playing so didn't really care. Though it was funny when my first game back was with some single markers, and they were looking at me with a "how the **** do you play off that" look
Pffft, amateurs.
I've done a Haystacks, joined a new club on 8.7, played 12 rounds there and now off 12.8.
(And 7 of the next 10 rounds to drop off are flagged.)
You don't get me. I'm part of the Union.
eBay sellers that constantly f*** you around for a week before telling you “I think I’d rather keep it now”.

you know its snake season when your once stray cat presents a decapitated hatchling brown snake to the back door and starts playing with it
Another night of close monitoring; she came off second best 4 years ago, $1500 later she was better again
Just what my bank account needs right now....NOT!
She has been saved once already, this time im not going through that again, shes about 12 years old and the anti venom is no way near as effective second time around
Apparently when they swallow the head it passes through the bowels normally, unless the cat has a stomach ulcer where it can penetrate the blood.
Chances are she has gotten away with it.....again (4th snake killed in 10 years) not sure how many lives are left now
Bout 25 yrs ago the other half asked me to pick their cat ( $5 bitsa)up from the vet on the way home from work , walked in , read a sign saying cash only , only had a few bucks on me , they brought the cat out “ that will be $320 thanks “ didn’t even like the “effing”thing , told them it only cost $5 to buy it so they could keep it . Funnily enough they let me take it home and the partner got to pay the bill the next day
My son has autism and was his cat who provided comfort and stability for him. Part of his chores and daily rehab was too care for this cat. Would have spent whatever needed to save him even though I'm a dog person. Unfortunatley was too late.
Have coughed up a lot of bucks for 3 snake bite treatments and I am not a cat lover. I nearly lost my leg in a horse accident 20 years ago and still having trouble with it now and about 2 years ago one of our horses had a tiny ulcer in its eye and finished up travelling over 1,000km, paying over $8,000 to the vets and finished up with a horse with only one eye. There will be more to come no doubt.
Ist hole today stiffed the approach from the middle of the fairway but then realize I've played the wrong ball.
