Semi: AndyP vs BrisVegas
Despite the other half of the draw not being at the semi stage, let's try and work out when and potentially where we could play ours.
What's your availability like, Dion? Your work is more restrictive than mine, so I assume only weekends are available, which will most likely make it a Sunday game?
I read that you have club champs on at the moment too, so what does this rule out?
I have Sundays available...sort of...depending on what potential running race it might clash with. I sacrificed a club race yesterday, so I'm pretty flexible with it.

Nice of you to choose a course that suits the plod!
Mind you BV must have felt like he was playing off the ladies tees after playing so many rounds at Brookwater

I booked the course, I wouldn't say that I chose it. I never would have thought of it if BV hadn't suggested it a couple of times. Both of us were playing it blind.

Multiple Major Winner
Thanks for the match AndyP and congrats on moving to the final. It was a fun round for the most part. I'm a little disappointed I didn't adjust to the greens better, but we both played the same course. AndyP came to terms with the greens better than me and got the win.
Unfortunately, I had 6 x 3-jags today (including ones from just off the greens), which made it a tough ask in the match. If AndyP hadn't played well, I might have gotten away with it, but he made the putts (& chipped close) when it really mattered and posted a good score of 38 points.
I actually enjoyed the course. There was really only one or two driveable par 4s (the 257m 9th and the 270?m 11th.) Yes, I'd play driver on the 9th again, in a heartbeat. I've never been much of a safe option golfer. There seemed to be a heap of par 3's from 108m to 175m so got to use plenty of different clubs. There was one 3 shotter par 5 and one short one and a few decent par 4's. The 17th & 18th at 400+ and 370-ish were both quite tough too. Other than the shaggy, cored greens, the only negative thing about the course is the safety of some of the holes. There are 4 holes on the back 9 in barely enough space for 2. With the "social" type golfers they attract it makes for some dangerous areas. Overall, Wolston Park surprised me. It was a decent challenge and there was plenty of interesting holes. I only missed 3 fairways today and only made par once from the trees. The trees on par 67 courses are just as penal as anywhere else!
Good luck in the final Andy.
