    Default Swings from FNQ

Firstly - thanks to Haysey and Tomsen for their FINE hospitality. Here are some swing captures for all 5 of us from Paradise Palms.

The main work in progress is Haysey, though once Tommo get his putting and chipping going - he will be dropping strokes quicksmart.

Nice of you to go to all that work for the boys Virge. It is handy to see yourself swing.

Only one comment from me and it relates to Haysey's swing. I was taught that the only way to correct a habitual over the top swing was to change the club face at address to very closed. The player has to go through a period of pain on the course, hitting the golf ball left and it staying left until he fully realises that a change of swing path is the only way to keep the ball in play. The golden rule being club face first, swing path second with the goal of getting the club face and swing path aligned in the same direction at the target.
Sorry Haysey, there is no other way mate. Use old balls for 3 months until you have a very real fear of the left side of the golf course and alter your swing path out to the right not into the left. Have fun.

Virge.. remind me at the champs to give you some stretches that will increase the X factor between shoulder turn and hip turn. These you will enjoy.

Thanks for this Virge, good to see what other swings are like and what I need to get to - becoming clearer especially Tommo's virtually no hip movement (takeaway).

Tomo's stance with driver seems very narrow. I've been trying to get my feet a bit closer together, especially with the irons, but I feel like I would almost fall over if I stood with my feet that close together with driver.

I guess it all comes back to control and balance, of which my swing has neither.

Henno, that's what I thought too but felt my issues were so bad I would not make this point knowing Virge will let fly on my takeaway!

Cheers Virge, was a pleasure to have you visit.

Horrific to look at myself on video. I knew it was bad but jeezus

It's kind of fun to practice with Tommo at the moment. Lots of "slap the ground you ****ing idiot", "you're not retaining that wrist angle ya big gay gorilla" and "**** it, I'll never get this, I ****ing quit" going on

I like the fact that my video with all that instruction = 11 meg.

    Courty's one swing = 9 meg....

I used to have a wide stance but for some reason and I'm not to sure why it just started to come in alittle...

Is it okay to have a narrow stance??
