Just finished Brett Ogle's new book 'Tigers, Sharks and Wild Things' - not too bad but a lot of me me me stuff.

Got almost through '1001 Ridiculous Ways to Die' but it got so depressing reading about losers that I couldn't finish it.

Just started 'Impro / Improvisation and the Theatre' by Keith Johnstone - an awesome book if you're interested in performance or actor training.

About to start "The Immortal BOBBY" by Ron Rapoport. (Bobby Jones and the Golden Age of Golf).

Funny, I thought this is the golden age of golf (make that golf equipment).

Finally got around to reading the Da Vinci code.

My take on the book is that the whole thing was an elaborate ploy by Dan Brown to see if he could find some chicks willing to join him in a ritual gang bang.

I like how he really changed up the plot in the book after, I can't remember the name ATM, but man it was just so different!

yes it's been mentioned by zig I think. But a second mention, and now a third, is worth it I reckon. Very interesting read.

Andy, there is a trilogy by Brent Weeks called the Night Angel. Good series I thought about an assassin learning his craft. Less dragging than Jordan, and less waiting than for GRRM to finally release the next book as the trilogy is finished.

Yoss, I saw you mentioned a way back Hitler's Willing Executioners. I'm pretty sure my wife has that and she reckoned it was terribly written by a sociologist that shouldn't have a book deal. I can't comment as something like that would be way too deep and intellectual for me.

Thanks for that. I'll add him to ze list.

I'm in the middle of Feist's latest book. More of the same. He seems to be writing books that go nowhere as they are a leadup to a final book in a trilogy. All the characters seem to do is information gather then discuss. It's not very exciting reading.

I did like his early stuff from the riftwar saga, but I must admit I probably enjoyed the trilogy from the other side of the rift more. (Daughter, Mistress and Servant of the Empire) May have had something to do with being a little different from the normal medieval type feudal society that the world was based on.

Oh and I have enjoyed all the Peter Moore travel books I have read too Russ. I particularly liked the two Italian vespa trips. Great place to visit like that and the characters he met bought back so many similar memories of my own.

I'm currently about halfway through the Lost Symbol. I'm not a fan of Dan Brown's writing style, but he is a master at linking known facts into a plausible story. I'm extra intrigued at this one due to Freemasons in my family (not including me).

I was reading Angels & Demons while visiting Rome. I had the opportunity to visit most of the landmarks and see with my own eyes the places he described. Whether the symbology is real or not, I don't know (or care), but the statues & monuments do exist exactly as in the book, pyramids and all.

Two and a half. I peeked at the ending of the half and was pretty much right in my assumptions.

I know he has sold a truckload of books, so I may be in the minority when I say this, but I think his books are shit.

The Da Vinci code, something aboot a castle? a keep? Googled it a fortress or something. And Angels and Demons.

To peek you move your fingers to a page towards the back of the book. Then read. The fact that I still knew what was going on after skipping however many pages I did suggests something to me.

Do you have a Dan Brown crush?
