Default Streaming Live TV over LAN

    Anyone do this at all?

I have a Tuner in my server and keen to stream the live TV across my wireless so I can watch it anywhere in the house on the laptop.

Anyone had any success doing this before I waste hours on end?

I used to do this using Windows Media Encoder, and strangely the instructions are still around (not sure if they still apply to this version though - it's been a while!)

If you start out depressed everything’s kind of a pleasant surprise.
    WITB: stuff.

I've had a read about using VLC. it seems pretty basic, and I've used VLC for years to watch downloads.

Try Tversity. I'm not sure if it does what you require though.

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

You definately won't be able to stream HD.

Mythtv is the obvious answer to this, but I'm going to assume not what you are looking for.
