Cortina is a restoration in progress. One prior owner, 78k miles. Never had a Mustang or Rotaries. Did have a Mk1 Escort years ago. The XR6T is a bit of a street/race car which may end up with a roll cage soon enough.

Pretty serious, son and I do circuit sprints but we’re setting the car up for Targa events so National spec cage etc, it’s good fun when they’re working as you well know😩 good collection of Ford muscle you have 👍

Very nice! More straight line bias here (if it wasn’t obvious) but that’s not to say I don’t mind the odd circuit car! It’s ironic that I have such a strong Ford bias when the other half and her family are GM. On the side I get to play with a VY Monaro, a 1996 Dodge Dakota, a Supercharged Outlaw 540ci PSI blown Dodge Dakota and a 540ci Chev powered, PSI C Rotor blown Alcohol Funny Car!

So I parked the S1000 and drove the GT today. It’s absolutely mental. For the first time ever, I don’t think it needs anything done, with the exception of a larger fuel tank so I might get over 300k’s to a tank

Is it Stock? I would assume there is a fair bit of headroom with these out of the factory?

It’s 100% as it rolled out of the factory. A hell of a lot of headroom with them. Can easily make 750hp without a great deal of work. Probably going to be wise to leave it alone since values are already starting to rise on them.

I gather they are under-rated at 335Kw as well, albeit probably via short term over-boost. Grip is the biggest issue, the best tyres you can afford is probably the best upgrade you can make.

Well, it made 340kw at the wheels yesterday after 4 back to back dyno runs. First run was 353kw. Throttle only opens 60% in the standard tune too. When the Dunlop’s on it die I’ll be throwing a set of Michelin Pilot Sports on.

I put some Conti Sport Contact6s on my beast a few months ago and it made a huge difference. The new Goodyear Eagles are getting lots of good reviews as well.

Attraction to me for this version of Stageas was all the running gear from a GTR (engine, driveline, brembos etc) in a wagon body. A family man's GTR.
