Mick, I drive through St Ives and Gordon on my way to and from work and see way more Porsche Cayennes than any other brands ferrying kids to and from school etc.

Well posh up your way PT, a Toyota Crown was the height of luxury when I lived up there.

As an aside, those Porsche Cayennes have to rate as the worst car for golfers, all dashboard, no boot.

Absolutely loving this, until I have to pay for fuel. Thirsty but damn, it’s such an enjoyable ride.

    D'Oh.

I've been driving there with the wrong ratio ... 1 golfer, 3 golf bags and 2 eskies

2 golfers that time you picked me up from Melbourne airport.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Just sold my old Magna VRX for what a new set of Tiger's TM irons would cost...won't rush into a new buy just yet, but looking midsize (Mazda6, Sooby Liberty/Forester).

'Twas a good car, but the Magna was just a little long in the tooth. But the buyer was happy with it, so that's all that really matters.

GT ended up running a 12.21@115.5 stock. Damn it’s fast. Down to the S1000 and the GT. Couldn’t be happier.

Just bought a Jeep SRT. It is a animal.

Untouched it would flog my heavily modified 6 litre VF calais, it stops on a dime, handles twisters and sounds like a angry grizzly bear.

I will play with a few small tweaks here and there.......

How does it handle crawling along at sub 30 in city traffic or roaring along the highway at 110? Sorry DP, I'm the anti car guy, I just don't get it.

I’m sure our ideas of small tweaks are similar. Like my GT is getting a few tweaks (intercooler, injectors, small pulleys and a tune)Perry - you either get it or you don’t.

Other than being thirsty it goes well in both situations. It is relatively well behaved in heavy city traffic, and it purrs along effortlessly and quietly at 110 on the freeway.

Fuel usage is high, but you don't buy a 6.4 litre 3 tonne SUV if you are worried about fuel usage!

I really will be conservative this time. Will put a Difillipo exhaust system on it, and tune..... and that will do me.

Anyone have a Skoda ownership experience.

Looking at the new TWin Turbo diesel
    Kodiaq.

Worlds fastest 7 seater meets the wifes requirements, and intrigues me.

I spoke at length about the ownership experience for two Octavia owners on the weekend. Both were very happy and would buy Skoda again.

But I've also spoken to Golf DSG owners who had ongoing gearbox issues. Have these now been resolved?

I haven’t heard any complaints from the people I deal with about the golf’s gearbox.

I drove and Octavia Scout as a work car for a couple years and was pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyed it.

Thought I’d put my two cars up.

The Jeep is my daily driver, and I have relegated the calais to garage and occasional Sunday drive. May eventually supercharge the calais if I can ever get away with it
