Being a 2.0L turbo diesel, no doubt the 8 speed will allow more scope for keeping the small sized engine in the right area for good torque/power. No doubt it'll be the same 8sp CVT box that Audi use in their new road cars...

2.0d 120kW seems underpowered for a car that is large and weighs a lot...so I guess the turbo and the box is there to augment it.

I know a guy who's got one. He's a mobile mechanic and just LOVES it. Reckons it goes great on road and off, plenty of oomph when you need it, awesome fuel economy and pretty quiet for a dual cab ute. He does a LOT of fishing up around Jurien/Cervantes/Leeman and it competes very well on the beach and in the dunes with his mates' much bigger 4WD's.

Still...$60k+ is a lot of coin for a what is still a dual cab ute.

Most comfortable ride in that category. As I said, it saves me around 18-20k a year in FBT if I went with the Jag. I hate having a conservative side to my brain sometimes.

Holy crap...I just realised that the Holden Colorado LTZ RG (top of range) dual cab is $52k! Amarauk wins!

The Jag is nice...paying 16% of it's value (for not much reason) IS NOT. Same reason I bought the SS Crewman!

It is a good move. Conservatism is OK.

    Spec'd up, it's a fair bit more than 60K.

What did you add? I thought it had BUCKETLOADS of stuff as standard? Cup holders can't be THAT much...I'm guessing you added Sat Nav, Tonneau cover, permanent 4Motion perhaps (I hope not)?

Like the 255/55 R19 tyres though. They'll be nice and cheap to replace . Dual Cab utes are not noted for their tyre wear either. 40,000 on a set will be a good run.

Sat Nav and 4motion are std.

Hard tonneau, tow bar, central locking on tonneau, spray liner, tint, mats and metallic.

It's the Ultimate model don't forget which I think RRPs at 65k ish OTR.

Toidy. Should be a very very nice way to get around! Welcome to the vee dub club.

I've got a MY08 Passat wagon which is also a 2L turbo diesel and it goes almost as well as my old V8 wagon even though it's giving away about 100kw - it's a beautifully smooth engine and well geared to match it. I'm sure that the Amarok will get along okay

It's surprisingly un-rattly too. I mean you can tell it's a diesel from the outside, but it's nowhere near as noisy as the diesels of old, and it's pretty quiet inside. It also gets around 6.7L/100 kms to boot I've only had it six months or so but getting out of the petrol price cycle is the best decision i ever made, so far.

Is that selectable 4Motion or permanent 4Motion as std?

Oooh, I likey the central locking on the tonneau!

What is the spray liner...the tub for the inside of the tray? If so, just check to make sure the WHOLE thing doesn't have to be removed just to change a brake light! I mention this because for the Crewman, that is EXACTLY what has to happen...14 screws, lift the whole thing out, replace light, put back in and replace 14 or so screws. Good onya Holden. FFS (I don't have one BTW, but nearly got one 2nd hand at a great price. Glad I didn't and now know why it was being sold!)
