I thought it was something like that.
    Now that's affordable luxury.

I've only owned 3 cars so far.

    1990 Diahatshu Applause
    1997 Hyundai Sonata
    1999 Honda Civic

Pretty boring selection. I loved the my first car, the Diahatshu, but thats probably due to being my first car and all the extra "freedom" I found with it.

Sonata was ok for a while. Still don't know why the hell I bought that car.

The Civic is rather cooler and more fun to drive the the previous two. I'm hoping the famous Honda reliability will help me keep this car for a while yet.

No contest. The car is worth many times more than all of the golf clubs stored at home.

Nice. I was looking at the PT Cruiser 3 years ago when I bought my Mazda 323. The Chrysler was some $10000 dearer but I really like the look of it. Drove pretty smooth too. In the end it was extra $10000 I couldn't afford. BTW, can you fit your clubs in the back without flipping the back seats?

My next car is definitely going to be a convertable. One of my goals in life, besides reaching scratch handicap, is to own a convertable before I go bald and develop a beer gut ...

I left my first vehicle off my list..........when I was 17 + 9 months i had a Honda CB175........god knows how old it was. I thought I was just so tough riding around on that.
Now I just pillion on the back of my husbands Honda Firestorm. He kindly built a bigger seat on the back to accomodate my ample buttocks........but hey - even Amanda would struggle with the tiny racing seat on it.

Caz has a 1998 Honda CRV - has no trouble fitting our clubs, buggies, clothes and dog when we go away.

I've got a 2004 Ford Focus - cool car - just wish it looked like one of the WRC cars

    1999-2004 (1992) Nissan Pulsar Q - the 2.0 litre hatch

This is the first one I've had ownership in:

Great car! If I had a slightly smaller mortgage, I'd be buying a Liberty in a heartbeat.

1987 VL Commodore S/W - and what a car she is. Unit's got a photo of it somewhere. By the way, the transmission fluid leak has been fixed!

The missus has a '94 model Corolla that we thrash to and from Casino this time every year, very reliable little beast - racked up 175k km's on it now!

Next car hopefully will be a 2-door Pajero, cruising around town and farm-bashing mobile, or a Subie Forrester which gives us a bit of clearance to cross paddocks.

need a very small mortgage. I looked into buying one but The Liberty as well as theother Suburu's are very expensive to maintain. Servicing and insurance costs are right at the top of the scale.

Service - $250 for a full service (includes all parts).

Insurance - this was the surprising part - insurance on the 92 Pulsar was around the $1500-$1800 mark. We paid $760 with AAMI & they gave us a 70% no claim bonus - even though we had an accident 4 years ago. Perhaps if you purchased the 3L or the turbo version insurance might be more. We live in a pretty rough part of Sydney too.

We used some equity in our home to purchase the car and pay $560 per month extra off the mortgage to cover it. We should have the thing paid off in 3.5 years.

Nope! We stopped insuring it in 2001 - it was previously required under our car loan - but after that was paid off, we stopped and just bought 3rd party property ($250) just in case we hit someone else.

I think we got $3000 trade in - I was amazed, we were offered $2000 everywhere else.
