Default What car do you own?

Thought it might be interesting to know what sort of cars we’ve got going around OZgolf (although I have been for rides in a few of them). I’m sure some of you are revheads (I am not), and would love the opportunity to talk about your current car, or a car you have owned.

I’m currently the proud owner of a Mazda6 wagon. Absolutely love this car, and think it looks fantastic, especially for a wagon. Another cool feature is the steptronic gears, so I don’t have to struggle with it being a gutless automatic, and can accelerate (or decelerate) and go through the gears like a manual.

Prior to this I owned a 1989 Nissan Skyline. I also loved this car, as it had a bit of power, but unfortunately it had to go before the baby arrived. The missus never really liked it either.

I’ve also got around in a 1985 Toyota Corolla. I still see this car around on the streets of the Sunshine Coast, and I know bugger all has gone wrong with it since I sold it. And it shouldn't, because it all went wrong when I had it.

Prior to that I drove a 1976 (or maybe 197 Holden Gemini. I killed it. Dad got it going again. Gave it to my brother. He killed it.

    AU Falcon Ute.

Monday to Friday it's just a car that gets me to work. On the weekend it gets used like a real ute. I don't feel as embarassed as I used to reversing the Daihatsu Charade up to the green waste pile at the local dump.

Do you want me to change the thread title to "What car do you drive?" so you don't feel left out?

Not at all, my not owning a car has been a personal choice, didn't get my license until I was forced by my wife at 22....I ride my bicycle every chance I get but drive my wifes 1995 Ford Festiva (Hairdressers car ) when I have to

Yeah I think I am the only guy other than 1 other mate (he is a 1 marker ) that I've ever known who had a license yet never owned a car. Got really turned off cars during high school when all the 16/17 year old boys turned into bevans/bogans and ever since I said I would never own a car for the sake of owning a car, especially as a "status symbol" So far I have been true to my word. Some days I would love a Rex though

I saw the smiley, and I hoped your comment was meant to be humerous but I couldn't understand what relevance it had to the forum topic. It's cool

I have a Tickford 1999 Ford Fairmont Ghia Sedan..... with all luxury appointments....ie, leather seats, air bags, 13 speaker sound system (includes a 8" subwoofer), 6 stack CD player, wood grain dash auto everything. It has racing suspension, 17" alloys with 235/45 series tyres. and a Tickford worked straight 6. This was all stock and was bought from a guy named Brian FORD about 12mths ago. I love this car........ is it obvious.....

Previous car was a 1987 Ford ZL Fairlane, before that was a Ford 1974 6cyl. Cortina.... Can you tell I'm a FORD Girl ??

My hubby has a Mitsushitty 1993 Magna wagon... it's on it's 3rd engine... we blew up the first, blew up the 2nd and now on the 3rd.... faulty heater gauges.... like I said, Mitsushitty......

    Cheers
