I have gamed the DCI Gold sand wedge for 20years. Recently put the matching lob wedge into play and love it.

Figured I would rebuilt a retro set, as I love the look of them.

Played them all through my junior years.

Oban Kiyoshi Black driver shaft and a set of kbs tour v 125s. Famous last words, but hopefully that’s the bag sorted for a little while.
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

Yep, the golds have more offset.

I have a 1 iron in black still.

I still remember as a young fellow finding a gold triangle 48* wedge on the course. Handed it in and then a month or so later the pro gave it back saying no one claimed it. It became my go to from everywhere and still remember hitting it 140m on a par 3 to an inch. Also as I was using some old Wilson FG59s the cavity was a welcome friend.

That’s a big pitching wedge at 140 metres!

OK, I thought so. I loved my blacks. They were in my bag when I was a member at Ashlar GC 20 years ago. Cool irons.

Yeah there was definitely something about that club. Something tells me the 48* on it may not have been correct. It had a regular flex shaft I think they were called tri spec or something?

It’s making me want to find a set now

I looked them up on the MPF (maltby playability factor) and the DCIs are rated as more forgiving than AP2s.Not sure accurate or relevant the MPF is, but they are more forgiving than some of the butter knives of that era!

I splurged on some silver triangle oversize DCI, and they were in the bag for 10 years.

My mate probably still has them in his garage and untouched for the last 10 years, waiting for him to find time to get to the driving range.

The Maruman Conductors off Dom. Steelfibres in them, will give them a trial this arvo and game them on Saturday if they are ok. The S+ cTapers were a bit much for me.
