I almost bought a Tour Edge Exotics XLD driver from the US, until I realised that a) I don't need it, b) the free fairway wood was only available within the United States, and c) the R7 Shallow is a great driver to hit, why do I need another one?

    Crisis overted.

Averted? Although you have made the crisis quite overt by putting it on a public forum. Get a Burner 07 driver, the shallow is a dog turd on a stick

    Glaring mistake noted.

And I have hit the '07 burner (mate has one) and it is closed, light, spinny and high. I guess the high-launching comes from the actual loft of the club being far greater than the stated 10.5, plus it is closed to all hell so add another degree at least.

Am I missing something about this club?

You need to find one that is not closed. TM quality control et al. I get good launch numbers with one, and hit fairways. Ideally I reckon one with a 63g Blueboard in it would be the go, if I was to muck with the shafts.

A Ping Tisi Tec 7 wood. I might have to buy a new shaft for it if I don't like the ProLaunch Red. I might have to sell some stuff soon.
