Do you think it punches above it's weight?

Not sure, I am trying to guzzle it as quick as I can - by the fourth glass it'll probably taste like Grange Hermitage!

Seriously though, it's probably a reasonable $8-10 bottle which they are either trying to push by doing the 2 for 1 or they have plenty of stock. I've drunk far worse.

If you want something that punches above its weight hop into some Summerfield Shiraz.

i love Summerfield shiraz, been a fan for a number of years.

But if you want something that punches way above it's weight try and get some 06 Charles Cimicky Trumps Shiraz. It's about 17 bux a bottle and flogs some 40-60 dollar bottles

For an everyday drop of red try the Hanwood Shiraz....for $8 - 10 you cant beat it....but for something better in a white I had a bottle of Capercaillie 2008 Langsyne Chardonnnay recently...now I dont like white but this was superb....got it as part of a club so not sure on price but I'd pay $20 for it!

you should might be able to get it at Dan Murphys if your lucky, it won a trophy for the best red wine at the barrossa smalll wine makers in 06 i think, so the bulk of it flew off the shelves.

Theres only one place to get it where i am and theres plenty there

What did you like about it mate?

I like chardonnay, but not the newer fruity styles, i prefer the older style, lots of oak and malolactic fermentation giving them that creamy buttery taste.

I am not meaning this to sound pompous, but I am yet to find an $8-10 shiraz worthy of drinking. You can find more than a few decent $10 Cab. Savs, and Merlots are even better with some good $5 bottles, but a bad shiraz is just nasty.

I would honestly say I would generally not bother buying a merlot over $15, or a shiraz under $15.

I hear ya. I am not much of a white wine afficianado, with old-style woody chardys about the only white I regularly enjoy.

i have never been able to rink merlot since watching sideways lol

places like Tahbilk down here have things like theie everyday drinking range and some of it is pretty good from 7.95 a bottle

I pretty much hate merlot. That is probably half of the reason why I would never bother buying an expensive bottle of the stuff.

been drinking for about 8 years but love the stuff.

Just a shame my palate has changed so much from when i startded Grange tastes on a Passion Pop budget.

Not pompous at all...you know what you like!

I would agree generally and dont buy anything less than $15 but this is a good drop. Very fruity and seems to be consistently good (unlike my golf), I wouldnt take it to a BYO or a party but as a house red for a Wednesday night its perfect for me...

But as I said, I dont know much about wine!

Is it the Vat 1 from the hunter somwhere?

Never tried it but it's supposed to be sensational.

I bought a few crates of these for giving away to me clients, though i think mine was more like 2001.

From memory a i put some up for trophys at a couple of the Ozgolf champs, hope ya;s liked em.
