Hitting Driver. Started out over the tree on the left, but ended up fading into the middle. Could the X-Stiff shaft be contributing to this? Or will a shaft change not help?
All comments/advice welcome & appreciated.
Apologies for the weird angles, still getting used to using the tripod.
I'm no swing guru Dazza, but I like what I see. And I have to say, the landscape in the videos makes me feel extremely homesick. The Aussie countryside really is unique.
Nice swing.. but you rigth you dont need the over swing. The shouler turn stops and the arms just collapse over your neck - this is what we call "not connected."
It is just too hard to recconnect on the way back down.
Focus on keeping your right elbow down and pointing at the ground. Also try to keep it not attached but close to you ribs.
You will hit it just as far - and your fade... cough . .. slice should settle down.

Played nine holes this morning, and worked on shortening the backswing.
Worked well, still hit the ball just as far.
Still fading a bit, but not as bad. Most straight, with a few fading.
Virge, that comment telling Dazza to stay connected - great timing. Something was rotten in my swing last week and I couldn't place it. A little mirror session after reading your post and I saw it and the "stay connected" shot out from the back of my mind, so thanks, even though your comment wasn't aimed at me.

All good mate - just hit half shots with that right elbow pointing down and glued to the hip. Then loosen it up on the full shots.
I did some pitching practice this morning, the tight lies at my new course have led to a few decel chunks, by keeping my right arm attached to my body and powering the swing with the body and right elbow it's so easy to get through the ball.
Went back to the bad old ways there for a few weeks (Swinging right around in the backswing) and sprayed the ball EVERYWHERE.
But I finally got back into the 3/4 today, and it worked well. Slight fade, but nothing I couldn't handle.
Thanks for the help Virge. I will post an updated video when I get a chance.
She is a good swing - but the takeaway needs a bit of work.
You're a big bastard so their could be soem flex ability issues but all in all, the shaft has to go AROUND, not as you have it BACK and then Around.
It all comes back to sequence. I would like to see that right elbow of yours folding a lot quicker on the backswing before you start moving your hips back.
