Thumbs up 2009 Champs info - Nov (13)14/15 Sunshine Coast - MAXIMUM 56 players

Thought we would try to get in early this year so the Mexicans could book some cheap flights as they became available. Don't forget about our pre-champs round at Pacific Harbour on the 13th.

Course: Club Pelican (the website features a great yardage book and hole flyovers)

Accommodation: Crowne Plaza located right next to the course

    Costs:
    • $55.00 per person for 18 holes with cart
    • $154.00 twin share B&B per night (PM should you still need to book accommodation)
    • Saturday night room hire so we can play some cards etc. $10.00 pp
    Tee times:
    • Saturday from 11.00am (10th tee)
    • Sunday from 9:24am (a more reasonable time for all concerned)
For the accommodation, please call 07 54374621 and ask for Suzy Kingdom. Be sure to mention you are with the ozgolf group as well. Please ensure only one person makes the booking for each room, you will be unable to split accounts until check-out. No rooms remaining however if you still need to book, PM your details and I'll try to follow-up.

For those honest souls who didn't get around to seeing me on the night to deposit $10.00 for the room hire and pool table, here are my bank details. Currently sitting about $40.00 short and I've already paid so will get money in advance next year.

    BSB: 014513
    Acc: 525213551
    Name: Steve Shave
    Bank: ANZ Broadbeach

    --------------

To unofficially register your intention to play, put your name on the list here: http://www.ozgolf.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12379

Correct indeed. Was known as Club Pelican when it was managed by Troon Golf. Then bought out by Club Titanium and renamed. Club Titanium has since sold this but the name has remained.

Shavey, can we pay for our golf and our accom well in advance? The earlier I do it the more likely I make it. I did that at KV and it worked well. But most years that's a bad time of year for me, but If I've gotten a lot of the cost out of the way early then I'm set.

Mate, if you don't make it this year there will be a lynch mob heading your way

You were good value last year, Virge, but there was only so much swing talk I could handle late at night in the end.

We're off to a really good start with numbers so far. For those hesitating, take note of those who have turned up for their first year before. A great time to be had, and there are no regrets.

Goughy, I don't know about prepaying golf but will ask next week. The course is completely separate to the accommodation so a little different to KV.

I object! Where are the endless discussions, the polls, the banter, the mystique of choosing a champs venue? Now all where left with is are we playing off the black and is the draw random!

The draw is never random. Certain personality clashes are avoided on Saturday. Eg: No one wants to play with 69er so he gets all the losers

I thought having all the J's together worked great.

Sunday is determined by your scores.

Is there any issue with my wife & I playing together on both days?
She's legally blind, and I have to give her a hand lining up her shots.
Takes a bit of extra time, so it wouldn't hurt to stick us in the last group as well. Saves holding everyone up.
