Default I need to buy a Lotto ticket.

Cleaned out the back garden shed last weekend. I took EVERYTHING out except the trolley jack, ( I just wheeled it aside and swept/cleaned around it.)

Went in this morning to grab my brush cutter and was hit by a funny smell.

There was a dead 5 foot brown snake under the trolley jack. I'd run over it's head when I shifted it.

I told her I dived full length at it and grabbed it just behind the head.

She told me I was full of shit.

Will some of the winnings go towards counselling of the other brown snakes ?

Are you going to say Sorry to them ?

    Very lucky Mike!

I've had a few run-ins with Browns over time. FAR TOO MANY.

Living in SW QLD, sitting on the dirt near the garden shed in our dog yard. Heard a hissing noise, and out comes a 5 foot brown. Managed to get the dogs out of the road and it made it's way down to the river. Man it was close to my hand, I freaked!

On the same property, a 6 foot brown was hooting across the yard. It then decided to go up the downpipe. Flushed him out with water from roof level, and he went on his way.

Same joint again, last day we were there. About to load the dogs (Out the back on the dog runs) and here's another brown heading for the yard. The kelpie grabbed him & had a play then let him go. I'm surprised the thing didn't manage to sink into it.
Got the dogs loaded, and drove out.

Following the old man on a TT-R 250 along a dirt road while out mustering sheep. He just missed one on the bike, and it flew up & tried to chew on my boot.

In town this time- Walked into the garage on a day off, went to open the roller door and a 5 foot brown stuck it's head out. Luckily it wasn't the wife, she's legally blind and she wouldn't have seen it until it was too late. Made some calls, and no-one wants anything to do with relocating snakes around here. Managed to hunt him out of the shed.
She had a few Guinea Pigs in the garage which we reckon attracted the snake. Guinea pigs are long gone.

    Take 2.

Played 9 holes late this arv and I walked right over the top of one big sonofabitch brown. Luckily it looked more scared than I was and took off into the scrub. I was inches away from standing on its head, I'm surprised it didn't have a go at me.

Note to self - don't play golf on your own without your mobile and buy a decent bandage to keep in your bag.

If this thing bit me I'd be having a chat with my grandma right now.

I expected it to bite me. It took off in a big hurry. Must've been scared.

The OP was my first encounter.
I found a brown tree snake in the house last month. That's 2.
These things happen in threes so I was worried about the 3rd.
Number 3 has come and gone and I'm still here.

I was waiting to shoot pigeons one time that were coming off a sorghum crop and while leaning up against a tree decided to relieve my bladder. I watched the urine flow down the tree and puddle to my shock under a large brown snake that was coiled up at the base of the tree directly below me.( I don't know how I missed standing on it in the first place) I was unsure of my next move but started by not shifting my body but pointing the shotgun at the snake. The snake stirred but was not startled and seemed some what pleased with the sudden warmth. Decided to back up and call it a truce leaving the snake to live another day.

I know you're supposed to stay still when confronted by a brown.

    Not possible.
