many of the houses down here absolutely cover their houses with lights. They actually have bus tours to visit the best ones. I think the judging is tomorrow night.
Its quite funny to see in some streets every house is lit up, and you can see that every year the nighbours are trying to out do each other. Our neighbour also has a santa, sleigh and reindeer on his roof about half size in scale.

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

Xmas lights are a pox on society - bah and humbug I say !! - I keep a ready supply of Round Up in the garage and an old Zero weeding wand just for the purpose of ruining the front garden and lawn of anyone in my suburb foolish enough to go 'xmas lighting'.

Well that time of year again, has anybodies opinions changed. Due to me working next weekend, Rachelle, Tayla and I put the tree up yesterday.
The Clark Griswald has come out in me and I have been up on the roof for a couple of hours today to put up the initial lights for our place this year. I am thinking of going the whole hog and putting up something that Clark would be proud of!

We have some Xmas lights warehouses near here and I am going to hit them tomorrow. Our street a few years ago made the papers for the amount of lights. A few houses have since changed hands and last year was not too many houses decorated. Hopefully this year will be different.

I should be down your way soon Dammo. We could hook up for a nights sport. That should get the dflwacs hopping.

I used search and found this thread! Yay me!
WA guys, take heed of the next paragraph (others can skip it if they actually want to read about my lights...
We went to Oak st in Forrestfield tonight and there are about 10 or more houses in the street that have some great displays. We jumped out of the car at the first one and walked around. Its a great atmosphere with people walking around, kids playing and people drinking in the street. I highly recommend taking the time to do it. Our kids loved it. Even my 21 month old boy was saying WOW at every house.
It also inspired me to come home and pull out more of my lights that i had in the garage and really finish off my house. I now have lights along the gutters, lights around the front garden, fairy lights in my round topiary trees, lights up my driveway, a blow up santa on the lawn (thanks Solarman for returning him) and tonight i braved putting my Santa cutout that counts down to Christmas out the front of my house. Hes screwed in to a metal pot and the power supply is inside, so here's hoping he doesn't get stolen! When it reaches midnight on the 25th, everything flashes HO. Quite fitting really!
I am going to head to Red Dot tomorrow to try and get matching lights so that I can chase the roof line next year!
I truly love Christmas and my kids get so much enjoyment from the lights.
Over and Out.

What's worse than driving around looking at Xmas lights?
Driving around and looking at them in the rain.
Tapatalk has been to paradise, but it's never been to me.
