+1 for Wembley; nice modern setup
Another one is at Whaleback if you are south of river; slightly older but they recently installed toptracer at the range if you are into that sort of things.
if you are after grass range, then have a look at Melville golf center (also south of river)

Very upsetting when this happened. Magical little track.

Yep sad to see such a great track with so many great memories attached to it close down.

Nuffie appearing out of the bushes from nowhere was a highlight moment you had to be there for.

Very sad. Great 9 holes. Hard to believe of all the thousands of cars going along that highway there aren't enough golfers stopping for 9 holes as part of their trip down south.

Anyone know what the condition of Vines Ellenbrook is at the moment? heard that they have recently cored it.

Club champs on at WAGC all weekend so looking at having a hit with a couple of mates.

    Cheers
You're in big trouble though, pal. I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!

in case any new people are searching for info...
karrinyup: in decent nick now, still working on fairways
vines: pretty tidy on course, off course is getting really good
araluen: looking a bit untidy but all things considered, pretty good
kwinana: no change. goat track on steroids
    hillview; why would ya?
wembley: rough as guts. only for very social golf
hamersley: slightly better than wembley, still much rougher and tougher
ledge point: still very playable up to a point
binningup: greens are a bit firmer than wembley, pro shop is a bit better, but distance markers need improvement.

ferrins said; "I probably need a generic answer because over the last two years I have used over a dozen sets and over 50 different types of balls and can't really tell much of a difference with them". We can all learn from this.

Binningup? I thought it closed 5 months ago, permanently?

Played Wembley old course last year and it was great.

I never knew Ledge Point had a track. I'll have to check it out at some point.

Played Araluen yesterday. Course was in great condition, greens were quick enough to keep me on my toes. There are some great holes up in them there hills.

We should look at something in the new year up there. A good idea. IDGolfGuy is going to be organising something.

Course recommendations around Perth/Mandurah? What's good at the moment?

Meadows Springs is always a good option.

Mandurah / Halls Head also very nice.

Secret Harbour is a good track.

    The Cut is an experience.

I’m not a big fan of The Vines, condition has been very hit and miss over the past decade, with a lot more miss than hit.

Playing there for pennant next Sunday, so depending on your timeline, I can let you know.

Around the city, the big “privates” are always good, Cottesloe, Lake K. WA Golf Club is nice.

Hartfield would be a decent option. Was in nice shape a few weeks ago.

    Royal Freo is generally good.

Royal Perth was very disappointing a couple weeks ago.

Joondalup, which is north, is a fun track, as is Sun City (which is well north)

They have actually improved the driving lines on a couple holes.

I enjoy it now, but I finally know how to play it, which includes “once a year, max” in the how to play guide.

Just in Perth to Thursday, so hopefully can get out when the rain stops. Then down to Mandurah for a few weeks.

If there is any interest in having a hit somewhere, drop us a message. Be in Perth until Wednesday and then at Mandurah for three weeks.
