The Vines has to be in the worst condition I've ever seen. Hopefully the coring and the wet weather will help improve the greens and fairways. But the bunkers are the real issue. We need more staff to maintain 36 holes it's as simple as that.

    Disappointing.

I'm actually considering playing SeaView as an alternative Sunday comp venue until it bounces back.

PGN is about to announce another Sunday venue which will be good (provided its not Marri Park or similar).

Saw a car with the PGN logo parked at Altone Park course the other day, could be the new venue. Will ask the owner next time I'm there.

Have you seen it recently? New owners have it in pretty good shape for a public track, certainly better greens than Maylands and Wembley.

Yeah but the layout just barely qualifies as a golf course!

Played Karrinyup for the first time today. Awesome condition, best bunkers I've ever played out of

The amount of greens staff running around was insane.

The guy I played with was an ex member at Mt Lawley. The final straw was when he got chewed out by one of the committee members for not carrying sand (he was carrying his bag). He showed the accuser the sand dispenser he bought from the pro shop but apparently that wasn't good enough as the rules are you have to carry a sand bucket and it must be blue! Karrinyup he reckons doesn't have as many nobs.. Who would have thought?

Played at Harvey today with a mate, didnt know the greens were just cored, made putting absolutely insane. We knew we were in trouble when it rained the whole way there. warmed up a bit with some chipping, then into it. first hole second shot to the par 3 1st and both our balls almost dissapeared into the green with our chips, 3 putts later we decided not to keep score, thank god. Rest of course is looking good but. This happened a couple of times, divot tool was working overtime

Is that Lakes, Ellenbrook or both?

I got taken to the Vines earlier this year and the member was very apologetic about the condition of Ellenbrook. He said Lakes was in better nick. One of the bunkers in Ellenbrook was half grown over by some sort of ground creeper, never seen that on any course ever and I'm a public course hacker!

Is the lack of ground staff due to poor management, or are membership numbers not high enough?

If it's Altone Park, that will be a major disappoint. A roadside dump from Shadesy would be a serious improvement for that area.

I reckon Araluen should be talking to the PGN to generate some revenue.

Not for a few months I must admit, working in the area next week though so I will be able to check it out again.

Its still in better nick than KB.

The greens at KB were worse than sand greens.

The rest of the course is in fantastic condition though.
Why exactly do I need to answer to you?

Playing kb and meadows in a corporate 'tour' this week coming. Thursday kb, Friday meadows.

Happened to mention to the COO I used to be a member at Kb, funnily enough I'm now playing in his group on Thursday. Might be making some side bets for this round.....

Anyways, going to be chalk and cheese going from Kb greens to meadows greens.

No. But I am the only person in the company and who is playing on Thursday that has played the course more than once. Most haven't played it at all (I was surprised too)

NFI why anyone would take somewhat non-golfers to KB for a round. Sure way to get them in a foul mood.

Mate only rated ACR 70 off the social tees.

Is that a complete joke, or is KB no harder than The Vines for decent players?

For memory Secret Harbour is 73 off the blues.
