    I've driven 1! He'd be too long.

Sounds like you are taking Ashes out for a hit.

I can believe that. I've left myself 40-60m out plenty of times. I usually hit 5W/4H off these days and try for around a PW in.

    Funny stuff JC

No way he would have one putted in that situ tho...

JC - was that the worst par you've ever witnessed?

Played Sea View in the PGN comp this morning, which was my second hit there.

Have already mentioned the greens elsewhere. Something has killed large portions of most of them and they are in disgraceful condition. Some should be played as scrapes to be honest.

Aside from that, I reckon it's a fun little track. 1 & 2 are fairly straightforward, but the rest are interesting enough. The northern end is bizarre and a little dangerous with criss-crossing holes, but individually they're all pretty good holes.

I wouldn't want to play it all the time, but reckon its alright occasionally.

What do others that have played it think?

I was a member there for about six years, whilst I lived over that way. I must say I enjoyed the course, it is a bit of a sleeper it can bite.

I would guess that white corellas are the possible culprits for greens damage at Seaview, they've had problems before with them

Could they kill half a green? They've chewed around some of the holes but didn't think they could destroy large areas.

No Bruce, Corolla's ruin Hartfield's greens. Corella's may be the culprits?

They can destroy a whole green, we had one green that was a week away from being unplayable

We did have, smart arse non golfers attack the greens with kero or zero or the like. Think I remember twice whilst I was there, and I remember the Green keep stuffing them with to much fertiliser as well

I've posted a few comments re. Seaview in the past.....no sea breeze I would consider it quite tame although the smaller greens make it somewhat challenging....add afternoon sea WIND and it becomes seriously challenging. 6 & 7 dead into it, 6 with blind tee & approach to a tiny green. 7 to a ridiculously elevated blind green. 4 & 5 need the right shaped shot especially when it's blowing. Love the challenge of the 2nd shot into the double green on 5. Blind shot into 9 (played as a par 4 first time round) is silly IMO but probably not a lot you can do with that hole coming back up the hill and pretty much smack in the middle of the course (plays better as a par 5). 3 can be easily tamed with the right shaped tee shot but again the approach is mostly blind for the average hitter. In other words too many blind approaches & tee shots in one nine, few very small tough to hold greens and IMHO the course is a bit boring going around twice.

Hmm, not too far from me and another one I didn't even know existed! Will have to check it out in a while if the greens come back to life.

How tough a challenge would it be for a 22hcp? (which is what I'd guess I'd be if I had a hcp). I've never played a links course and/or really windy by the sea. Lucky to break 100?

Ashes Snr is off 22 and shot 97. It's short and is not particularly difficult until the wind comes up, but still a step up from most public tracks. Golfnut gave a pretty good run down.

Just noticed on the PGN calendar that Mandurah CC is the new Sunday comp track. Quality.
