Some incredible celebratory scenes over the pond for Thatchers death. I'd understand if she was a mass murderer or something.

She actioned the unpopular... we can only guess the basket case the UK, and those that would have felt compelled to come to it's assistance, would be in now.

A lot did happen in the 100's of years before her, a awful lot of nastiness by both sides during her time.

Depends on if you see the IRA as terrorists or freedom fighters I guess. The whole episode is ugly. It is not like Gerry Adams is an independent observer.

The whole episode at the time was and still is shocking.

We were getting only the Brit version in our news at the time, Gerry Adams may have some "slight bias" in his article but at least gives a view from his side.

Both the IRA with there splinter groups and the Brits destroyed too many innocent lives.

LL start with these should be able to get both on eBay

Bandit Country: The IRA & South Armagh

for the Brit View and for an overview of the IRA

Rebel Hearts: Journeys Within the IRA's Soul

I'm a huge fan of biographies there are many great bios on the Irish war, it makes fascinating reading as you can pick one from each side unlike say WW2 which is mostly from the allies perspective.

Heard a rumour yesterday tha Donald (Scotty) Cameron had passed away. Couldn't find anything on the Net so it may be only a rumour. It did come from a pretty reliable source though.???

Reckon she lived a pretty wild 53 years. For some reason she seemed a lot older.

Chrissy had lots of sass. I saw her on a Spicks and Specks episode talking about how she was very shy and suffered from stage fright a lot. You would have never guessed it.
