Well thats the interesting thing. I doubt he ever intended to defend the civil suit, I think he voluntarily opened that opportunity to settle with the girl in a way that causes him the least damage. He made the public statement "apology/admission" immediately after the trial was dismissed not as part of the civil settlement.

its interesting that so many famous actors of his era changed their names, and not only because their mom gave them a girls name.
Now apparently its cool to have a name many people cant pronounce.

Michael Wolveridge at 82. He has been apparently assisting Marina Mirage recently with some advice on their course renovations.

I had a hit there just before Xmas and the course was looking the best I had seen it in a long time.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

    Every gambler knows
    That the secret to survivin'
Is knowin' what to throw away
    And knowin' what to keep
    'Cause every hand's a winner
    And every hand's a loser
And the best that you can hope for is to die
    in your sleep

    And when he finished speakin'
He turned back toward the window
    Crushed out his cigarette
    And faded off to sleep
    And somewhere in the darkness
    The gambler he broke even
    But in his final words
I found an ace that I could keep

You've got to know when to hold 'em
    Know when to fold 'em
    Know when to walk away
    And know when to run
    You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
    When the dealin's done

    RIP Kenny Rogers.

The Gambler is that flat broke, he's bludging whiskey and cigarettes on a train...…….what particular pearls of wisdom would he have. Better off listening to Warren Buffet.

Up there with "your so vain, you probably think this song is about you".....well, it is.
