Never heard of this guy until today but a genuine hero. Its one thing to make a split second decision but another to plan something that you know the only outcome is torture. That is brave!

No. The way some people carry on about celebrities you would think that it would change their life. Odd.

First point, Schumacher entertained us for the past 20 years, at the pinnacle of sport. (As opposed to Lara Bingle, etc. and any Dancing with the Stars 'celebrity'.)

Second point, this could see a mandatory wearing of helmets on our ski slopes (and possibly other recreations). Just like Andrei Kivilev's crash made helmets compulsory in bike racing or Eric Evans death instigated the 40kph school zones in NSW.

And it possibly saved him from doing a Sonny Bono or a Michael Kennedy.

The point was more that a high profile incident can be a catalyst for changing our lives.

would be an over reaction imho as by the sounds of it he was an advanced skier and wasnt just taking it slowly.

Should the Oscar be taken off him because he was on drugs that may have been 'performance enhancing"
