Pity JC doesn't share the weak stomach like TF has.....you could have a chunder on the first tee just to put JC off his game....

    This picture sums it up......

The sun setting on my matchplay hopes and dreams.

What a day for it. Blowing 3-5 clubs all day. Across breeze on the front 9 and your typical downwind 10-13 and back into the teeth 14-18.

I blew 1 and 3. JC didn't play much better on those holes, but held things together well enough to win the holes.

When I did play well, JC would pull something out of the hat...... every time.

A near eagle on 4 after playing 2 iron/6 iron into the green (500m hole!)
An up and down from 130 on 5.
A punch shot on 7 that would be the envy of any professional golfer.
A scramble bogey 6 from the deep shit on 8 including a unplayable.
A ridiculous up and down with a bomb of a putt on 9.

A 365m drive downwind on 10 to set up a tap in bird (My 280m drive was far too mediocre).
A mishit PW from about 150 on 11 that somehow stuck on the green.
    Reaching 13 (500m par 5) with 2 iron, 6 iron (again......)
Another unbelievable punch shot to 15 feet on 14 for a bird and the win.

Apart from a few wipes, JC played great golf. Handled himself on the greens extremely well given the conditions. I had no idea how to handle wind so strong on the (now pure and fast) Kennedy Bay greens. Wind was affecting the speed and break quite badly.

JC, I am not saying this because you thrashed me, but apart from 1 and 3 (and you hit a nice approach into 3) that is some of the most controlled golf I have ever seen you play. I really didn't deserve to be a chance today. You handled the conditions remarkably well.

As always, a great time to be had around the KB layout. And a great time joking and laughing at the expense of other Ozgolfers as we went.......

Highlights for me were few and far between. Almost driving the 12th green, reaching 13 in two and almost rolling the eagle putt in would be about it. A few 3 putts cost me very dearly, and only using 7 of my 10 strokes by not making the home stretch killed me.

    Bring on the final!

I am going to spectate. If it happens at Mt Lawley my caddying services are off the table, but I will be the official scorer.

Well done JC. I thought it would be closer than that but it sounds like you managed the conditions better and closing the match while Adlo still had a third of his shots in the shed was great work!

Will the final be a repeat of Summerslam '92?

SummerSlam 1992 - Hacksaw Jim Duggan Adlo and the Bushwhackers defeats the Mountie and the Nasty Boys in a non-televised match

Or will the Mountie overcome Bushwhacker Luke!?!

Does that mean you are NOT playing at MLGC...or will play in the same group (and score for them at the same time)???

Great review Adlo......I still tremble in fear when I think of any Sea side links course on a hell windy day like yesterday.

    Well done JC.

I think this thing is gonna come down to the last couple of holes, JC is gonna have to birdie a lot of holes to stay in it, which I know he can do unfortunately. So I am gonna have to play some solid golf to get up.

I think the course might suit me a little more, in that there are great big trees to get in the way of his low hooks.

Should be good looking forward to it.

    Get that handicap down!

I'll be back to 5 this weekend.

If I've got more than 18 points at the turn on Sat, I'm drinking 8 beer on the back nine.

I would have much preferred to play JC around Mt Lawley.

It is going to be a tight one, as Yoss can handle himself around parklands tracks pretty well.

I have a funny feeling 18 holes is not going to be enough. TourFit, you need to formulate a back up plan for playoff holes.

I am going to play in the same group and score. Joined by River Phoenix.

i think i am in trouble giving up 17 shots. from what i have seen, yoss is much better than Simmsy a 22 handicapper.

    should be a good match.

playoff will be a long drive comp.

My back up plan is of the Tonya Harding variety on JC...if it's tight coming down the stretch !!!

You know the saying..." Save the seals etc etc"

10 and 18 make perfect play-off holes BTW...not far to walk. Away and back to the clubhouse. A short Par 4 risk and reward, and an uphill dogleg Par 4.

If they are needed it shouldn't be a problem at that time of the afternoon!!!
