Default WA 2009 Matchplay - Johnny Canuck is your winner. Bring on 2010.

OK WA boys, we might be light on numbers, but if you build it, they will come. I figure we have 4 forum regulars on the best side of this country, which is a good start. So, don't be shy.

Hey Adlo, with each of the groups are you looking to play each opponent in your group the once?
If so would that work that you get
    1xhome,
    1xaway &
    1 you&opponent choose neutral course??

Then the top two of each group move to next round?

Yep, play everyone once. Decide the venue amongst yourselves.

If the next rounds we might be able to get into a home & away challenge.

WA ozgolfers are too unorganised, this thing is never going to get going, so I might as well just name myself the winner. So long suckers!

Adlo, not trying to steal your thunder, but I thought if you did this you could get a bye and be open to wankers calling you a wanker.

So, I took the liberty of streamlining your event into a normal matchplay bracket, with all matches drawn from a hat and the last four drawn out getting a rd 1 bye.

If you want to use it, fel free, if you want me to pull my head in, just say so. Truth is I'm bored at work and it's something to do.

    Doing the draw now.

Let your boredom run free... draw away!
And Exasac is likely a non participant.

    Man, you are bored

See what the WA boys think, but I think it will work better and in the semi's and final a best of 3 format could be used.

It contains less games, so at least it's a chance of being completed while it's still 2009 (not like the pissweak effort of the Victorian contingent last year).

Yeah that is what is worrying me, knock out makes much more sense. Most people can swing a few extra games over the next few months.

OK, the powers have spoken. Due to the non existent nature of this moving forward a knock out format has been introduced and drawn by a neutral party (Scottt in the UK).

1st round matches that are not a BYE will need to be completed by the end of June, so we can look at completing this thing by the end of the year. Original post updated, and excel attachment has the draw (see post #1).

Please arrange all matchplay events in full view on these forums so that if someone forfeits a match (ie does not make the deadline) the appropriate WA Ozgolfer can move into the next round without any fuss.

Round 1 matches to be completed by the end of June:

    Rebjon vs WAChopper
    Golfnut vs TourFit
    Johnny Canuck vs. Simmsy

Golfnut. Whenever you get worried about taking a clubfitter on on the course, you just need to take a deep breath and think of good old Nigel Oldridge

Sat the 25th could be an option. I'll let you know soon.

I can only play on weekends now that daylight savings is gone. I also have my match play at Kennedy to take care of. The 25th could be good, as long as I don't have to play my Kennedy one that day. We could go a neutral venue. I may be able to get us on to Secret Harbour for $30, but would have to make a call.

    mmmm.....
weekends are hard for me at the moment.
Certainly can't make the 25/26 as I am away that w'end.
How about the 27th it's the Anzac Day P/H here in Perth?

Secret Harbour is fine with me.
If you would like to play Hartfield we could do that on the monday. Can't play Hartfield on w'ends due to comps both days.

If 27th doesn't fit for you how about May 2/3?

I'll have to see about the 27th. May 2 is the deadline day for me to play my match play at Kennedy, so that day could be out. I'm going up north for 11 days on the 4th, so the 3rd is probably out as well as I'll be switching baby seats in cars, etc... all day.
