There's been some champagne sledging leading up to this match, but it's all bluff on my part. I'm actually expecting to lose this match against Cookie (I just hope he doesn't read this before we play). I've seen his game firsthand, and he definitely hits the ball far better than his handicap might suggest (although his short game can be suspect). Unfortunately though, his handicap is still high, and thanks to some decent rounds from me recently, I'm on the lowest I've been in a number of years (6.7). What that means is that I'll be giving him a bucketload of shots, nullifying any length & homecourse advantage I may have. My only chance is his mental fragility (which I've pointed out earlier). I don't think straight-out sledging will be very effective in this match, so I may have to employ some more subtle tactics.
Hmmmm.... maybe I can distract him by leaving a bunch of coloured tees visible in no obvious order or pattern.
