ACT Matchplay Challenge
I haven't even gone close to winning a net golf match so the challenge is laid out to tg01 and wbennent - two of the finest matchplay golfers in history.
Home and away format, so 6 matches in total. Scoring is 20 points for a win, 10 for a squared match, with a point per margin (eg 2&1 is 3 points, 5&3 8 points).
These 2 couldn't beat an egg - so surely this will be when I break my duck.
The matches, in no particular order;

for Goulburn ? Must have moved the course then ? From memory it's pretty flat.

Must be due for another trip there then, I reckon there are only 5 or 6 holes a little hilly, the first few on each nine are flat. You tee up high on that par 3 that is 220ish ? The hole before that is on the side of a hill, the hole before that there is a mild incline to the green.
Nah, you're just unfit.

TG v WB at GLGC tomorrow is on. Who is the worst match player in Canberra? This will be resolved by 5pm tomorrow...
Do we use the stroke index or the matchplay index - I am getting 4 shots and probably needing 10....

Matchplay index.
I predict an easy win to tg. His lack of height will provide a distinct advantage in the windy conditions at Gungahlin Lakes.

Wb are we in the comp? I hope so, because I drink too much when playing social golf.
I have two newly re-shafted drivers for tomorrow, have no idea which one to use...I am predicting wb gets a floggin on his home track.....did you say 4 shots?

Just a quick update. WB went 4 4 4 4 4 to open a 4 up lead that was never a chance of being caught up...
5 up at the turn, wb makes an up and down for a 4 from centremetres from OOB, then centremetres from lake to go 6 up. And a win on the 12th made it 7 and 6, thanks for coming...
TG did manage to back a great winner on the punt, and we saw Walshy liquored sitting on the okey badokeys. Hope he had another win there after his 47 points last Wednesday!!!!

It was close match all the way, with wb only just getting up, some may call it luck, some may call it skill...I hate the wind
**** I suck
Thanks to wb for hosting the match. The lakes is in very good condition and has obviously undertaken quite a few improvements.

I'll have to let you know. I'm supposed to be playing the Murray DGA champs at Albury that weekend, but the MDGA captain couldn't organise a root in a brothel - so it could well be a possibility.

wb played well, he was 'on' from his second shot. This is a long chapmionship - plus walshy mentioned he was keen to join.

Hope nobody draws the welshmeister on one of his 47 point days. I would hate to think of the ribbing a forum member would receive if they were to be beaten 8 & 7.

I am free tomorrow, and playing like Matt Hayden. Who wants an easy 7 and 6 victory?
I'm away from tomorrow night until next week...

Mark January 26th in your calendar as when Benno's winning streak of 1 comes to an end.

Like a typical public servant, wb has completely stuffed this up and booked us into separate groups.
Go back to jamming the photocopier and taking a dozen smoko breaks.
