ACT Matchplay Challenge
I haven't even gone close to winning a net golf match so the challenge is laid out to tg01 and wbennent - two of the finest matchplay golfers in history.
Home and away format, so 6 matches in total. Scoring is 20 points for a win, 10 for a squared match, with a point per margin (eg 2&1 is 3 points, 5&3 8 points).
These 2 couldn't beat an egg - so surely this will be when I break my duck.
The matches, in no particular order;

Yowani is ~$1200 a year or ~$51 every couple of weeks, no joining fee untill the end of this month. However, $110 admin fee applies. I just got my GF to join as a country member since she's living in Sydney. Once we have AGU handicap, we then can join you guys for the fun.

GLGC, Australia Day Cup.
You, me, Bluescooter and Robbo, off the 10th at 8:08. Don't bother bringing fireworks to this one...
I'll concede 10 now as I'll hook it straight out of bounds, but I have 13 more shots to play with after that. Bring the a game princess!

And SMS's run of rubbish matchplay results continued today after going down 2 and 1 to myself at Gungahlin Lakes.
After SMS was one up after one after WB hooked it OOB as predicted, and the next few holes were swapped and it was all square after 9 with SMS dopping a long bomb for a 3/4 on the 18th.
WB made it one up after par on 1, then SMS went for glory and hooked it into the soup on 2 when trying to clear the 250 carry... After both found the water on 3, WB made a 15 footer for 4/2 to go three up.
It was looking all over with WB having a 15 footer for birdie on 4, but a three stab opened the door. SMS won 6 with a par from out of the muck to get it back to 2 down, and 7 could have gone either way if both players putts had been a foot harder.
Come the par 5 8th and both were a chip away for 2 - WB hits a lob wedge to a foot from an impossible spot, and SMS blades a chip through the green. Match over
Rematch at Yowani in a couple of weeks...

Nice prediction Nostradamus.
Thanks for the hit. The Gung is in pretty good nick, although the greens were a bit shaggy. Thanks to tg01 for the kind text messages of support he sent to me last night (presumably whilst half cut).
3&1 was pretty much on the money. Unfortunately.

As discussed during the day, leaving the greens shaggy so something still exists after the predicted week of 35-38 and hot northerly winds was a surprisingly good piece of management by the greens staff.
And it helped you left everything 2 foot short all day.
Bluescooters 40 points saw him come 9th overall, and 6th in C grade. The winner had 47 points!
My 6 and out on the 9th cost me third place in B grade. Bugger...

Somebody has to work with him, heck I'll even play golf with him on occasion.
SMS, I believe you are a rarity much like myself, a talented left handed golfer, okay so the "like myself" can probably stop at left handed.

And another 24 points to me after a 3 and 1 away win against everyones favourite crime against fashion SMS.
SMS fought back to be one down after 15, then a 3 putt 4/2 on 16 dormied the match.
SMS pulled out driver on 17 and smoked it, but a sand wedge from 103 to a metre gave me the 3/1 win...
On a 40 degree day, it was a high quality match with SMS having 36 stableford points, one shy of my 37.
Thanks to Chris Jigolo for joining us in the heat.
And Sol may be nice on a hot day but its a gay beer - just like anything else which needs lemon or lime added to make it drinkable

This hurts in a manner which words cannot describe. Benno has played to his handicap 3 times in 2 years, and two of them were when he played against me.
I doubt I could even beat jarro at the moment.

SMS is right - but he has now been beaten by Canberras worst 12 marker (actually 14 and 13 at the time we played) twice.
You should be embarrassed.
TG - when are you ready for your lesson?
