ACT Matchplay Challenge
I haven't even gone close to winning a net golf match so the challenge is laid out to tg01 and wbennent - two of the finest matchplay golfers in history.
Home and away format, so 6 matches in total. Scoring is 20 points for a win, 10 for a squared match, with a point per margin (eg 2&1 is 3 points, 5&3 8 points).
These 2 couldn't beat an egg - so surely this will be when I break my duck.
The matches, in no particular order;

That's a nicely formatted challenge.
I hope the boys take it up.

Benno is in and I'm sure that tg will oblige.
It could be golf's first nil-all draw though!

I was under the impression that Schanop only plays 9 holes early in the morning, midweek.

It sounds fun but a probably a touch difficult to join the whole lot at this time though.
I don't have any official handicap at Yowani yet, still have to manage to get time to play in a Sunday comp there to get my score card marked. So handicap-wise, it is a little bit unfair even though I know that it's around 7 or 8, but I'd like to be a spectator if you guys don't mind. However, every other weekend when I am in Canberra (every other would be in Sydney), my girl friend (also a golfer, beginner ) friend is visiting from Sydney, so she probably will have to tag along as well.

You are on for this weekend SMS. And 27 points from one of us should be enough to win 3 and 2...
I have spots booked for the following weekend at GL - 12:20 Saturday.
Which track will TG nominate as his home for this event?

Just catching up with this
I am in on this crazy adventure. How could I not be, given the whole world is watching.
I need to check access rights over the next few weeks for Fed, otherwise I can do GC anytime (before I rid myself of the membership there). My preference is for Fed so hopfully there will be no issues.
Either way you pathetic homos are history, looking forward to taing this much regarded prize of being ACT's best ....?

wbennett, is it possible that weekend at GK for players without official to play in the time slot? I'm afraid not.

My money is on TG. Granted he lost the only matchplay game I ever saw him play, but the dude that smashed him was a once in a lifetime ballstriker and putter on that day

Does 3 players qualify for a state matchplay comp?
If so, the WA boys can follow the lead of the ACT boys in a 3 way showdown.

And I've seen Grunt beat him at Federal.
My money is on Not-So-Squeezy.

Was pretty easy too, I was spraying it everywhere and he still couldn't do it. No killer instinct I think. Some may even say weak

All loses mentioned are appropriately supported with good excuses...
The form has picked a up from when we last played. I am not concerned about wb, he is a an easy beat. If SMS keeps getting shots back he will certainly loom as a contender for the title.
Grunt, you will get yours at the Mt B game, as soon as Andrew organises it (he has some nice prizes to as a result of his NTP at Federal)

From little things big things grow.
Who knows, in 18 months time we could have a dozen competing in the ACT Matchplay titles...
Schnappy - you will need an AGU handicap to play.
Dotttttttie - my form has gone further downhill since our encounter. If these clowns can't beat me, they are the worst players in the world.

You never know. When schanop gets a handicap, and welshy gets his deportation overturned we will be up to 5. I reckon at least 8 is a viable number to aim for in 2010.
