Odd, why did you swap Ultegra for 105?
Did you downgrade to get all the extra gear?

Yeah came down to price in the end and 105 is more then sufficient for what I'll be using the bike for and $800 worth of kit that I didn't have to find the money for.

It was a bargain, $4000 bike for $1800 and $800 worth of kit to go with it.

I now just need this bloody rain to bugger off so I can start using it!!!

First proper spill today on the way home from work.

Took a corner out of a bike lane and some silty muddy water had overflowed from a construction site onto the apex.
Front tyre slid out, rolled the bead and blew the tube....and I high-sided it. Didn't have much speed left when I hit the ground so no broken bones.

Hurts less than the last time I came off any kind of bike (last time was a bike with an engine at perhaps somewhere north of a speed limit).

Knicks and jersey seem to have held up but transferred a bit of a burn through. Haven't had a decent look at the bike but seem ok. Got a head knock so need to check the helmet and make sure its intact.
    Cheers
    Craig

I am back but after reading about Just's absence I checked my last post and it was April this year. Not sure anyone sent out a search party for me

What tyres are you after? If you need one quickly I have a brand new GP4000s in 23mm in my stash and a couple of used tyres with small gashes if it helps.

Not the end of the world. I put my tyre money into joining the golf club again. Don't suppose you've done the same?

A true cyclist....bodies mend but bikes are precious

Actually I was a bit sore but nothing even half way to serious. Lost some confidence on the corners...and one in particular.

However this constant afternoon wind of 25-35kph from the NE, E or SE slows me down a fair bit so the risk is off.

Actually the past few weeks have been good resistance training light sw in the morning when I head in to work then blasting the opposite way to ride home into.
    Cheers

Just bought this. Apollo Volare. Not sure of the quality, but will be good enough for the occasional road ride.

Did a Hux yesterday although I didn't roll a tyre, I slid over on a right turn at a roundabout yesterday. Was embarrassing as there was a car following and they saw me do it, although they didn't stop to see if I was ok. I checked my bike to see if it was rideable and kept on going as I was <15min into my ride. The Rear Derallieur needed a little straightening but apart from scratches the bike is ok. I got a nice graze on my hip, elbow, ankle and knee. It's not so bad this morning 24hrs afterwards but it the weeping of the wounds that is most annoying. It's times like this that I'm glad I went titanium for my bike choice, no lingering doubts about frame cracks with my bike.

And just buff it out too. Not the weeping wounds, the bike frame scratches! Glad you're fine'ish.

Just punched out a 30k prework ride around Lake Burley Griffin. It was 20odd degrees and perfect morning for it....The perve alone means I will be doing it again. It was like a modelling agency has all of Canberras glamours walking around the lake together.

I find it somewhat uncomfortable riding while having a perve.

After last weeks 30k I decided to do a 2 hour ride as the start of training for a 100k charity ride in April.

Perfect morning for it as I knocked out 52k on cyclepaths with 600m of elevation climbs. Next week I wil aim for 60k and knock over Black Mountain or another big hill
