Don't know if any Qld'ers noticed this but in the auction section of todays paper there was an ad for an upcoming auction of pretty much everything at the Kooralbyn Resort - furniture / golf pro shop stock / beer and wine / greenkeeping equipment etc etc - the auction is in October [date not yet set] and is on site.

the auction notice was a preliminary one - date to be announced but likely to be early October - Grays is the company running it - it was in Sat's Courier Mail {bris.]

Is the resort completely gone now? Course closed?

Company that owned the resort went into liquidation. They have not been able to find a buyer so I guess it is being wound up and sold off. Very sad.

has anyone heard anything about the land itself being bought? Wasn't Medallist (Norman) trying to grab it for a bargain?

The course making it back into Australian Golf Digest top 100 may help the price.... didn't stop it closing.

Any one think 83 is a little high for this course?

before the re-desgin of 1 and 18 and when it was well looked after 83 was a bit low i would think, wasn't the pro at windy gonna lease it or some thing, damm shame to see it happen, i use to go to school out there, played it every day.. nothing but great memories

Full auction notice is in the paper today. Two auctions on site (Friday and Sat Oct 10/11 I think) and an online auction. Pro shop stuff is on the saturday.

yes they are selling the buggies. Look in saturdays courier mail, I am sure it will be there again. The buggies were all relatively new, be about 2 years old now I think.

Nothing, the lack of even rumours regarding Kooralbyn seems to indicate that it is dead, and in this climate, I cant see anyone making a move on it.

I thought that might be the case but I just hoped the cancelled auction meant there was a glimmer of hope. I'll always have fond memories of teeing off on a misty winters morning on the 5th.

Yes but if you ask for availablility is says all rooms sold.
