I hit my tee shot into it and it rolled back to the front of the green. My second finished 20 feet past. If I had hit it any softer and would have come back to me. I lipped out the par putt back. It would not really be in play on a back pin. The bail out looked to be straight at the bunker, left edge and chip on.

A couple of others in the group flew the slope and finished off the back edge, right of the bunker. It was a 3 putt and a 4 putt each from there for them.
While the top of the mound looks like it's been scalped by a mower apparently the issue is more lack of moisture retention for proper growth.

I'm sure the brand new fancy bunkers will be fine.

Pity; a better result would be that they're washed away so the club can start all over again

The driving range is still open. Short game area down near the 9th tee (old 18th on south course).

The finish to the Qld PGA allowed the 18th to show it's teeth or rather how stupid it is.

I felt sorry for Jak Carter but that's life and was like the finish of the Vic PGA when Lincoln Tighe only needing a par on the last shanked his bunker shot and made bogey.

Which 18th did they play? The par 3 or the 4?

The par 3 over water with a massive tier in the green.

A very steep irregular tier that interfered with the putting line during the last day, even when the ball and pin were on the same tier. There was a 5m or so putt in the playoff, where for the player to get in the hole, he would have had to putt up the tier to come down again. Instead, he conceded that he was just going to have to miss to the right with no chance of holing.

I dunno whether its a bad hole for a playoff or not, but its a bit of a dud for the 72nd hole of the tournament.

Seems these days the tournament organisers choose the playoff hole for benefit and safety of on course spectators, and then just repeat one hole infinitely until there is a result.

I feel for Lincoln Tighe, but that bunker shank was an absolute cracker. Last thing he needed at that point.

After missing the green off the tee and hitting a bad chip that’s his fault, not the green’s.

That was an example. I didn't like it when I played it either.

It’s an example of a putt being tough when you put the ball in a bad spot.
