    Default Instant Messaging Programs

I'm currently on Yahoo Messenger, but a few of you guys have repeatedly asked me if I am on MSN Messenger. Probably so you can annoy the crap out of me during the day.

Well, I'm not, but I am looking for a reliable program that can access both. Do any of you peoples use a program that does this?

I came across a couple of them on a search:
    Easy Message
    GAIM
    Miranda IM

    Heard of any of these?

    Thanks

Trillian or GAIM would be my recommendations.

I pick Trillian just because they've been doing it longer.

You need to keep up to date with patching these multi-access programs as all of the proprietry groups make changes to make them incompatible farily frequently. There is no OSS movement when it comes to Yahoo and MSN.

I just download Trillian V3, its still in Alpha, so you will only find it at unreliable sources, like http://www2.fixdown.com/soft/18847.asp
(its the first chinese text link).

I like the features and the look, in fact its better than any of the standalones, and displays the Freinds pic in the contact list.

I got the freebie basic version.

Had my doubts this morning though, as I was having lots of trouble getting it to connect. Seemed to be working fine by the end of the day though.

I was then harassed by some fellow OZgolfers for the rest of the afternoon. The doubts return.....

If Jarro doesn't have MSN, he wouldn't be one of them?? That would have to be a plus.....

Bugger. The MSN connection of Trillian doesn't seem to like going through the HTTP proxy at work, so it won't connect now. Even though it worked fine for a few days.
Their website doesn't seem to have an answer for fixing the problem either.

    Works great at home though.

Think I will try Blakey's dodgy Chinese alpha version 3 now.
