    Default Week Commencing 30th June

Played Monthly Mug at Reddy Bay today. 90/69. Missed my break 90 by 1 . The 13* Sumo experiment is working well, 12/14 fairways (1 was with a 3W). Neeed to get the longer irons and hybrids straighter as only 3 GIR. 32 Putts. 1 birdie, 3 pars. Nothing worse than Double, just too many of them. Depending on CCR I could go to my lowest handicap ever!

Confirmed Handicrap down to 19.6. Got done by 1 stroke and think I missed 2nd in a count back.

Default Fox Hills - 4th July

Played Fox Hills this morning, was not a good round but was not a bad one either. Iron play was ok just got a few distances wrong , local knowledge would fix that. Short game was not that good at all, was either short or too long most holes. Putting was great again.

    Stats

    92 Gross
    75 Nett
    30 Points (3 Wipes)
    6 Fairways
    1 GIR
    3/14 Up & Downs ( a few Up,Up & Downs)
    0/3 Sand Saves

Waterford Valley for the 2nd round of the Herald Sun Challenge.

A day of feast and famine. I was even par through 5 holes (par, bogie, par, par, birdie) and then imploded. Lost 3 balls on the next 3 holes to suddenly go to 9 over .

Played steady golf on the back 9 despite losing 2 more balls. Ended up losing by 4 shots in the end.

    93 gross / 71 nett (Par is 71 - 4th now a par 4, with the 6th (currently a 4) in the process of being changed to a 5)
    36 points (3 Wipes)
    39 putts (1 x 4 putts, 3 x 3, 12 x 2, 2 x 1)
    9 Fairways
    7 GIR
    1 Birdie
    5 Pars
    6 Bogies
    2 Doubles
    4 "others"
    1/2 Sand Saves

Oh well at least I played to my handicap.

Played Paradise Palms today with Mike and 2 other mates. Keeping your eyes on the ball is under-rated.

83 nett 73 in the monthly medal at Cairns today.

Was an exercise in patience for the 4 hrs 45 minutes we were out there

Default Macarthur Grange Country Club - 5th July

Got a call from a mate to go out and have a hit at Mac Grange last night. Played as a visitor in the Monthly Medal, not sure if 71 will get me the visitors prize. Saw a score by a member of Nett 60!
Did not play too badly. Boy, the course is in very average condition. Fairways are all almost dead, greens are ok still.
Played ok for the day, got caught out by a few bad bounces but that happens at Mac Grange. Overall I was happy with my game today.

    Stats

    88 Gross
    71 Nett
    4 pars
    32 Putts
    6 Fairways
    1 GIR
    5/14 Up & Downs
    0/1 Sand Saves

    Next Game; Sunday/Monday next week?

Quite a disappointing 84 nett 76 in the monthly medal today. It was the qualifying round for the club matchplay, and 82 usually qualifies. 3 putted the last when a one-putt would have done. I didn't play very well, but I avoided doubles to stay in contention.

    Fairways = 8 of 14
    Greens in reg = 4 of 18
    Putts = 32, zero birdies, 1 threeputt
    Up&Down = 2 of 8
    Sand Saves = 2 of 3

I played 9 holes today... Got my first real birdie today (last time it was some BS chip that hit the pin and went in 4 years ago). I am still crap, but that was the best 9 I have played before.

Played solidly at the Monthly Chop at Reddy until the rain caused them to call it off. Fired a 43 around the back nine with 14 putts, didn't really want to stop

yet another crap round today (24 points). I think that's 3 straight rounds over 90. But anyway, I'm sure I'll find something for the champs.....

I stunk it up for 86/78 in the Medal today. 4 birdies wasn't enough to offset two triples & 3 doubles.

2nd card in at Parkwood. Still lots of course improvements going on. Looks good. I have next week off so I'm hoping to get more cards in to finally get my handicap.

I suck. Monthly medal at Albury. I turn a decent round into an 83 through sheer stupidity.

My gentle slide continues. The last bastion of my game is deserting me; my iron play. As proof, played today and last Sunday. Between them I have a combined 3 GIR. What's worse is because I get in trouble off the tee a lot I like to remember my successful approach shots. Those were my only 3 approach shots too!!! Not good. I relied on being able to hit the green after chipping out from under the trees.

To go with the 3 GIR's, I have 1 FIR for the 2 rounds as well. I also bogeyed all 8 par 3's the last two weeks, only hitting the green once. I usually counted on hitting 75% of greens on par 3's, also a telling sign of my collapsing iron game.

The only good thing to come from all this is that with stats like that I'm still breaking 100
